In the world ofPalia, humans have been completely absent for thousands of years prior to their sudden and magical re-emergence. They’ve left behind numerous ruins, and characters like Jina will be helping you discover how you came to be in the world, and you’ll be helping them understand humans better at the same time.

Here’s everything you need to know to complete Jina’s Open The Door quest, improve your relationship with her, solve all three riddles within the quest, and unlock a new ruin for you to visit and explore.

How To Unlock The Open The Door Quest

To get access to and start Open The Door,you’ll need to reach friendship level 3 with Jina, and you’ll also need tomake sure her prior quests are completed,particularly The Broken Key.

Gifting JinaMountain Morel mushrooms every real-world 24 hoursandfulfilling her weekly wantsalongside just speaking to her each in-game day will raise her friendship quickly.

Once you’ve hit the requirements,you’ll receive a letter in the mail from Jina. She’ll tell you that she’s found the other half of the key from the last quest and the door it goes to, but the door is locked by a series of riddles.

How To Solve The First Riddle

After you get the letter,visit Jina at the Mirror Pond Ruins and speak to her. She’ll tell you that the key didn’t actually unlock the door but did activate a set of riddles written by Ancient Humans that you’ll need to solve. She gives you the first riddle:

There is a house. One enters it knowing all and leaves it knowing nothing.

You’ll be able to pick a few guesses via dialogue choices, butyou’ll need to select ‘school’ to progress. Jina will agree with your guess and promise to contact you if it’s the right answer.

How To Solve The Second Riddle

Afterone in-game day, Jina will send you another letter in the mail, and your quest will be updated.Speak to her again,and she’ll tell you that a new set of runes has started to glow. Your next riddle to solve says:

The key you hold shows a thirst for knowledge, but the next clue for entering these hallowed doors requires a thirst for something more.

Theorize with Jina again andselect the answer involving thirst and water. Both of you will agree to start searching for water sources in the area.

Make your way to thefountain in the center of Kilima Villageand look for one of thetriangular shapes along the outside of it. One will have an interactive Old Inscription on it. Read it to make progress and receive the hint for the third riddle.

The final hintwhich you will need for the key says:

Find a stone that represents the sands of time.

To find this “stone,” you’ll need to head toBahari Bayand make your way to eitherBeachcomber Cove, Lighthouse Lagoon, or Coral Shores. The stone you’re looking for is actually apearl, and to find one, you’ll need toopen Unopened Oysters.

Oysters can be found randomly within both thesandy areas and the shallow waterof the areas mentioned above, and they will both glow and make a hum when near, like other gatherable items. Open oysters until you find a Pearl, and your quest will update.

If you’ve already found onefrom opening oysters previously,you may skip this stepandget it from your storage.

How To Complete The Open The Door Quest

Return to Jina and speak with her. You’ll explain to her your findings and hand the pearl over to her to put into the key. She’ll then hand it back to you and tell you that since you discovered it,you can open the door first.

After you finish the conversation, the quest will be complete, and Jina willreward you with 25 Spice Sprouts. Additionally, one in-game day after you complete it,you’ll get another letter in the mail from heras well, and it will have Bacon-Stuffed Mushrooms attached.

The door she’s referencing is the large door she stands in front of at the Mirror Pond Ruins during part of the day. Once this quest is complete,you’re able to freely enter the ruins in Mirror Pond Ruins and explore inside.
