RELATED:Disney Dreamlight Valley: Achievement/Trophy Guide
Vanellope enjoys the Valley, but throughout her friendship quests, she wants to try and show you some of the things she’s used to, like confronting villains in boss fights. While you won’t be doing any traditional fighting, you’ll still deal with a few villains in her quest Boss Up, and this guide will show you do each step.
How To Start The Boss Up Quest
In order to start Boss Up, you’ll first need to meet a few requirements. Vanellope needs to be atfriendship level sevenand have her prior friendship quests completed, as well as Scrooge’s questThe Haunting of Dreamlight Valley.
You’ll also need to have bothUrsulaandAnnaunlocked, as well asthe biome Frosted Heights. While it isn’t a requirement to unlock the quest, you’ll also wantSunlit Plateau unlocked and to haveprogressed Scars' quests.

If you’ve met all the requirements, speak to Vanellopeto start the quest. She tells you that she has another great idea to bring excitement and familiarity to the valley: boss battles.
While you won’t be doing any fighting, she does suggest some “boss” encounters with the Valley’s villains, such as Ursula, and wants some “potions” for the “battles”, and she’ll hand you three recipes:Mint Boba Tea, Coconut Boba Tea, and Raspberry Boba Tea.

How To Make The Boba Tea Recipes
While you have three different recipes to make, all of them share two base ingredients,Milk and Sugarcane.
Milk can be bought fromChez Remy once unlocked, and Sugarcane can be bought or grown from seeds purchased fromGoofy’s stall at Dazzling Beach.

For the main ingredient for each Boba Tea,you’ll need a different fruit or spice:
Coconut is the most difficult ingredient to obtain of the three.

To have Coconuts grow naturally on trees on Dazzling Beach, you need to havecompleted a specific friendship quest from Maui.
If you haven’t completed it yet or haven’t unlocked Maui, you can get Coconuts as a potential drop when feeding Sea Turtles. To have them have a chance to drop coconuts, Sea Turtles must befed a liked food, not a favorite.

Their liked foods include Shrimp, Scallop, Oyster, Crab, Lobster, Clam, and Squid.
If fed one of these foods, they havea chance to drop one to three Coconuts, and the recipe only needs one.

Once you’ve made all three “potions” for Vanellope, bring them back to her to continue the quest.
How To Do The First “Boss Battle”
Speak to Vanellope, and she’ll give you some classic boss battle tips. Afterward, go into Ursula’s house for a quest update, then speak to her to “battle”.
Ursula isn’t too impressed by the whole thing and tells you to scram. “Regroup” with Vanellope byspeaking to her again, and despite the lack of a fight, she’s happy about the whole thing. She’ll give you another “quest” to go on: getting a magical weapon for the final battle.

How To Find The “Magical Sword”
Go to the Forest of Valor, and you’ll find a special glowingtree stump with a swordsticking out of itnear where the Pillar of Courage sits. Dig it up with your shovel, and your quest will update.
Go into your inventory and use the new Clothing Bag itemyou received from the stump. You’ll get a Pixel Sword & Shield from it, which counts as a back clothing option.

Next, go into your Wardrobe from your inventory andequip it to progress.
Check Up On Vanellope
Now that you’ve got your “weapon”, you’ll need to go see how Vanellope’s own quest is doing. Check your map and meet up with her andMother GothelinPeaceful Meadowsfor a short scene.
After she and Mother Gothel finish, talk to Vanellope. It didn’t go so well, but she’s undeterred by it and suggests you’re ready for the “final boss”, Scar.

to “battle” him, she suggestsmaking a lureto get him in the right spot.
How To Craft The Scar Lure
To make the lure for Scar, you’ll needthree Herring, one Kingfish, 30 Softwood, and 30 Fiber. Obtaining both Herring and Kingfish means you’ll need toutilize bubbling spots when fishing.
Herring x3
Caught at Dazzling Beach (white bubbling spots).
Kingfish x1
Caught at Dazzling Beach at night (blue bubbling spots). Night is 6pm to 5am.
Softwood x30
Spawns underneath trees in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadows, Forest of Valor, Dazzling Beach, Glade of Trust, and Sunlit Plateau or as a drop from dug up tree-stumps.
Fiber x30
Crafted at a crafting bench fromSeaweed, which can be fished upin any biome without a bubbling spot. One seaweed makes five fiber.
Once you obtain all the materials, go to a crafting bench and look in theFurniture tab. Craft it, then head to Sunlit Plateau.
How To “Fight” Scar
To put the lure down, you’ll need togo into your inventory and into the Furniture tab. One of the special request tabs will beat the top of the menu for easy access.
Put Scar’s Lure down near his cavelike you would any other furniture, then leave the mode, and the quest will update. Speak to Vanellope once she runs up to Scar’s cave, and she’ll tell you it’s time for the final boss fight.
After the tiny scene plays, enter Scar’s cave and speak to Scar. You’ll get various battle-related dialogue options with him as you talk, and eventually, he’ll concede defeat and tell you to leave.
How To Finish The Quest
Talk to Vanellope, and she’ll announce that you’ve beaten the final boss and congratulate you on the feat. She’ll tell you she has some loot for you as a reward.
Pick up the piece of candy on the ground near her, and you’ll unlock a special memory of a drawn map reminiscent of an over-world map from an RPG game.Show it to Vanellope, and she’ll admit she drew it herself as a homemade memory, and then the quest will be complete.
