Many quests have a straightforward beginning, but Deep Cover has several ways you can uncover the UC Viligance and the plot to destroy the Crimson Fleet. They’re a lawless group of space pirates that the UC SysDef has been trying to root out, and you’re the only one who can help them.
How To Start The Deep Cover Quest
To start the quest, you’ll need toget arrested on Jemison. Rather than pay your bounty,you’ll be transported to the UC Vigilance.
The fastest (and least violent) way to do this is bystealing in plain view of UC Security.
Otherwise, if you’ve alreadyjoined the UC Vanguardand completedGrunt Work,Tuala will send you to the UC Vigilance. This route prevents you from unlocking the quest via arrest.
This is a one-time offer. Refusing means you’ll have to find the ship later to initiate the quest.
Depending on how you handle this, you may make yourself an element of Commander Ikande and lock yourself out of a crucial choice later.
How To Go Undercover
Once on board,if you were arrested, Commander Ikande will offer a deal:infiltrate the Crimson Fleet or go to jail. The choice is yours.
If you decline the offer, you’ll have to seek out Commander Ikande and the UC Vigilance yourself to pursue the quest line.
If you’ve alreadycompleted the UC Vanguard quest lineorlearned about it from Tuala, you’ll need tofind the ship yourself.
you may find it inthe Sol System, nearPhobos.Speak to the SysDef guardwhen you dock and follow him to the lift.
Depending on how far along you are, he can make comments about your progress.
Regardless of how you get here,agree to help Commander Ikandein the Operations Center. You’re the key element to taking down the Crimson Fleet: you’ll be the eyes and ears of the UC SysDef.
They need evidenceto prove to the higher-ups that the Crimson Fleet needs to be dealt with, and you’re just the right person for the job. You can easilyblend in and infiltrate their ranks.
You’re expected to follow the UC code of ethics if you’re part of the Vanguard, meaning that you’re not supposed to go in guns blazing every time.
That being said, Commander Ikande can’t babysit you and you’ll be on your own.
Commander Ikande will send you tospeak with Lieutenant Toftfor more details. This willstart the secondary quest: Burden of Proof.
There’s acredit disbursement for each piece of evidence you return,so it’s in your best interest to collect as much as you may.
How To Infiltrate The Crimson Fleet
Saoirse Bowden is your contactwith the Trade Authority, and you’ll be delivering Aurorato get to the Crimson Fleet.Head to Cydoniato speak to her.
Show her the Aurora sample. She claims it’s too hot to handle, soask about another buyer. For afinders fee (1000 credits),she’ll tell you where you can sell your shipment.
There’sno use trying to avoid the fee. She’s heard all the threats before, and youwon’t get the information out of herwithout paying for it.
If you threw the deal back at Commander Ikande when you were arrested, you’d be an enemy of UC SysDef, but bypass this step. You can go straight to Adler once you receive information about him.

Find Adler Kempat theBroken Spearand discuss your shipment. He can help, but you must do him a favor first. You’ll have todeal with a minerwho accumulated a good amount of debt.
Adlerdoesn’t care how you do itas long as you get him his money.Get money from Karl Fielding,and Adler will help you move the cargo.
you may’t pay Karl’s debt yourself at the moment. Adler wants to send a message, meaning you need to speak with Karl first.
Where To Find Karl Fielding
You canfind Karl in the residential area. Speak with him to talk about the debt. He’s tight on credits, but the debt must be paidsomehow.
There are three paths before you:
Alternatively, you can kill Karl without speaking to him, but you’ll have to deal with UC Security.
However you collect the debt,return to Adler Kempin the Broken Spear. Pay back the debt and tell Adler that Karl got the message.
Adler is impressed and offers you more work with his associates if you’re up for it. Naeva Mora is your next point of contact on Europa, butpaying the debt ends the quest.
Yourreward is 7,300 creditsfrom the Aurora shipment and anopportunity to run with the Crimson Fleetundercover.
