The brightly lit city of Neon inStarfieldoffers many delights and pleasures for the settlers who live there or visit its streets. Unfortunately, it also has more than its fair share of murderers, coverups, and corrupt authority.
The optional side quest Unjustified, takes you to the Underbelly of Neon to bring justice to one of its poor souls who ended up on the wrong, and deadly, end of a disagreement. You get to choose if justice is served with a bullet, or if mercy is the best course of action. The life of one man rests solely in your hands.
How To Start The Unjustified Quest
Unjustified is unlocked after completing theTalk To Katherine Luzion” activity.As with many side quests, at some point while wandering the streets of Neon you overheard something that triggered this task.
To find Katherine, go intoEbbsideand take the elevator down into theUnderbelly. You’ll find her working at theQuikShop. She asks you tocome back tomorrowwhen she feels ready to talk.
Go sit down in one of thechairs across from her storeand wait till the next day,then go talk to her again.
Find Out What Happened To Katherine’s Husband
When Katherine is ready to talk, she tells you abouther husband Thomas’ deathand that she feels there ismore to the story than what Neon Security has told her.
Offer to find out what happened to Thomas, and she tells you to gotalk to Tevin Anastas,the head of Emporium and theprimary witness to Thomas’ death.
Follow your quest marker out of theUnderbelly, throughEbbside, and back intoBayu Plaza. Tevin is in his office atThe Emporium.
Talk toTevinaboutThomas Luzion’s deathand he becomesvery tight-lipped about the situation.
If you have good persuasion skills,you’re able to persuade him to tell you what he really saw. You can also offer abribe of 1,000 credits for the information.
Whichever route you go, he finally tells you thathe saw Thomas quarreling with a mannamed either “Russel” or “Rusty”, and that this manmurdered Thomas by throwing him into the ocean.
Ask him where this Rusty is, and he suggests checking thesleeping crates outside of Madame Sauvage’s in Ebbside.
Get Justice For Thomas’s Death
As you approach Rustyat the sleeping crates, he starts to ask you for credits.
When you start talking about Thomas’ death,he explains that it was just an accident, and that a buddy of his inNeon Security covered it up.
You now have two choices:
No matter how you ask,he refuses to give you the name of his buddy in Security, so you’ll never know who did the cover-up.
Kill Rusty
If you decide toget justice for Thomas by killing Rusty, choose the Attack option at the end of the conversation.
He’ll be an easy kill, and once he’s deadyou can loot him for credits and his weapon.
Let Rusty Go
If you’re feeling merciful, however, you do have the option to let Rusty go.
He promises todisappear foreverand never be seen again.
Go Back To Katherine
After you’ve either killed Rusty or let him go,report back to Katherine about what happened.
Depending on how you proceeded, your response when she asks what happened will either be"I killed him.“or"I took care of him.”
Once she is satisfied that the situation is settled, she’ll offer you a reward.You can then either accept her credits, or deny the reward.
