WhileLies Of Pis a game that wears its inspirations on its sleeve, it still has a unique trick or two of its own. Without question, the most fascinating of the bunch is the weapon crafting system. There has never been a Souls-like that allows you to have this much control over the weapon you want. You can mix and match to develop weapons of any type that will fit your style of play as well as your build.

But of course, when you are combining weapon parts, it is important to take stock of the different aspects that are associated with each component. So, we’ll break down the entire process for you. We’ll tell you everything you need to know to craft your own ideal instrument of murder!
How To Unlock The Assemble Weapons Option
Once you enter Hotel Krat, you can introduce yourself to Eugenie. She is the hotel’s resident artisan. More importantly, Eugenie will help you assemble (and upgrade) your weapon.Unfortunately, she needs a tool before she can help you.
Before she can start assisting you,you will need to defeat the Mad Donkeyand obtain the Enigma Assembly Tool.Don’t worry, the Mad Donkey is the second boss of the game, so it won’t be long before you are assembling your own weapon. Once you have done that, you’ll be ready to create a weapon of your own.

What Does The Handle Determine?
Let’s start with, arguably, the most important element. The handle of your weapon will determine the attacks your weapon uses. So, since the Puppet’s Saber has spinning, sweeping slashing attacks, no matter which blade you place on the Puppet’s Saber Handle, you will have those same slashing attacks.
It is important to keep the attack in mind when picking a blade, as you don’t want to match a Spear Handle with a Hammer top.“Attack Type” will give you a good idea of how well the two components synergize.

The other thing to consider when choosing a handle is its “Attack Abilities”. Every weapon will have some level of affinity with Motivity, Technique, or Advance. Some weapons will strongly favor a single stat, while others will benefit from multiple stats. The higher the letter grade, the more a weapon will synergize with that particular stat, and the higher the weapon’s attack will be.
This means that all blades will be viable for every build, butyou will inevitably favor the handles that best synergize with your build.

Handles also play a large role in determining your weapon’s speed and reach. The heavier the handle, the slower your attacks are likely to be.
What Does The Blade Determine?
When we say “Blade” we are also referencing hammerheads and such. This is the terminology the game uses to refer to the top half of the weapon, so we’re using it as well.
As important as the handle is, the blade is the most relevant component when it comes to your Guard Ability. A low Guard Ability means you will sustain considerably more damage when you block an opponent’s attack. The higher the Guard Ability, the better, and the Guard Ability is exclusively determined by the Blade.

Beyond that, while the core components of a weapon are determined by both the weapon’s handle and blade, the Blade is definitely the biggest contributor to Physical Attack.
Much like the Handle, the Blade will also help determine your weapon’s range and speed. The heavier the Blade, the slower it will swing.

Slash And Stab
Every weapon has an “Attack Type”. Under Attack Type, you will see Slash and Stab. Most weapons will be better suited to one Attack Type. All of this seems pretty self-evident. However, the symbols beside them aren’t. We’ll break down what each symbol means below.
=

This symbol denotes the weapon’s primary Attack Type.
︾
This symbol means that this weapon is less effective when using this attack type.
-
This symbol means that the Handle doesnothave any attacks of this type.
Ideally, you will match a Blade with a Handle that allows you to use the Attack Type that the Blade is best at.
Fable Arts
Both the Handle and the Blade have a Fable Art associated with it as does every handle. Some of these are quite simply too slow to ever be particularly useful. The best way to determine the effectiveness of a Fable Art is to use it on the dummy in the courtyard.
Typically, slower weapons come with Fable Arts that will be difficult to land in a boss fight, while Fable Arts associated with lighter weapons are often much more practical. Lastly, some Fable Arts will buff your attacks for a set period of time. These tend to be quite fast and are often a welcome addition.
Altering A Handle
One of the more interesting elements is that you may change your weapon’s alignment. However,it is important to note that there are limitations to this. You can only shift a stat a single time.
You can’t take a weapon that has a D-grade Technique and upgrade it all the way to an S-grade.However, you can take a B-grade Technique to an A-grade.Upgrading a handle also comes with a notable downside: as one stat increases, the other stats must decrease in turn.
Oddly enough, a number of weapons can upgrade their Advance without reducing the other stats. This is still a case-by-case basis thing, but it is something we have observed.
Upgrading a handle is down by way of a crank. you’re able to reset an upgrade by using a “Balance Crank”.There are a limited number of Cranks. So, be careful when upgrading your weapon, as you never get an unlimited supply of these precious items.
