How To Beat Benedicta Of The Endless Orison In Phase One
Phase oneof your encounter withBenedictatakes place ontwo liftsthat are constantly being pulled up and down as she showers you with attacks, having youjump back and forth between the twoto avoid taking damage.
Furthermore, there areteleporters on the left and right sideof the screen, enabling you tojump into one of them to appear out of the other, allowing you toevade some pretty nasty attacksfrom Benedicta. However, she also has access to these teleportersand will use them to launch attacks to catch you off guard!

Spiked Pillars
Our first look at Benedicta’s arsenal is herSpiked Pillars, having hercall in two Spiked Pillars, one at the top of the screen and the other aligned directly across from it on the bottom. After summoning these Pillars, she will have themmove toward one another before they ultimately pass through each otherand move off the screen.
To evade this move, move away from the trajectory of the Spiked Pillarsandtry standing close to Benedictaif you can. This will allow you toland several hits on her until this move ends, making it an excellent way to carve away her health!

Lightning Strikes
Next up is herLightning Strikes, which has Benedicta summon aball of Lightning in the palm of her handbeforefiring off several bursts of Purple Lightning Strikesat the Penitent One. She willchase after you,so be prepared to dodge her pursuit.
As she approaches you with her Purple Lightning, jump through the teleporter closest to the lift you’re currently ontoappear on the other one, placing you behind her. This will give you another opportunity toget several hits of your own in!

Ghastly Orbs
Following that attack, Benedicta will almost always summon herGhastly Orbs, which are thesepurplish-white orbs with facesthat willtemporarily circle around herbefore flying toward youat blazingly fast speeds.
Youcan either Guard the Ghastly Orbs or Evade through them and jump onto the other lift.Still, weprefer using the teleporterto get behind her, as it will allow you toslide underneath the Orbs, jump back onto the lift you were initially on, and then hop through the teleporteragain.

This will almost always haveall her Ghastly Orbs destroyed on your second passthroughwith the teleporter, placing you behind her with no real threatto you, giving youanother chance to get a few strikes inbefore she moves onto another action!
Teleporting Spiked Pillar
She will also periodically toss out herTeleporting Spiked Pillar, which is justa single Spiked Pillar she summons in horizontallybeforelaunching it into the teleporteracross from her. This willcause the Spiked Pillar to return through the other teleporter, making you dodge it twice.
For this, you just have tostay out of the Spiked Pillars trajectory, whichwill be in the same pathway as when she initially launched it.Don’t worry about attacking her here; you must focus on getting somewhere safe to avoid the Spiked Pillars twice!

Spiked Pillar Floor
Another common attack of Benedicta’s is herSpiked Pillar Floor, having hersummon a row of Spiked Pillar across the entire length of the groundbeforelaunching them upward, one after another.
To evade this attack, wait for the first Pillar to launchupward, thenmake your way to the lift opposite of it and jump through the teleporter, placing you where the first Spiked Pillar was. This willalso allow you to evade all the other Pillars, making you primed and ready for her following action!

Multiple Teleporting Spiked Pillars
Like the previousTeleporting Spiked Pillars,Benedicta will often summon intwo Spiked Pillarsbefore performing this action, having youlook out for two different Pillars to dodge twice, making it a bit trickier.
However, this ishandled the same exact way,as you will need toquickly find a safe spot to stand that will evade the initial launching of the Spiked Pillars and again when they returnfrom the other teleporter.

Spiked Pillars Barrage
Her final attack in the first phase is herSpiked Pillars Barrage, having hersummon a group of Spiked Pillars at the top and bottom of a single liftbefore launching them through it.
Since she singles out a single lift here, you mustquickly make your way through the teleporter closest to the lift she’s attacking to pop up by the other one, allowing you to evade taking damage entirely.Benedicta will also be on the safe lift, allowing you to get several attacks inuntil this action is complete!

How To Beat Benedicta Of The Endless Orison In Phase Two
After droppingBenedicta’s health down slightly past halfway, she willbegin striking one of the lifts with her Lighting Strikes, causing it tobreak and plummet into the depthbelow, beginning thesecond phaseof the encounter.
While youno longer have a second liftto rely on to evade incoming attacks, her attack list is nearly halved, and shegains no new actionson top of that, making this phase relatively easy once you know what to expect!
During thesecond phase,Benedicta will still toss out herLightning Strikes, which is handled slightly differently this time. Toevade this attack, you mustquickly climb up to the upper portion of the lift or drop to the bottom before she strikes.
Once you see her stop moving, move to either thetop or bottom of the lift and repeatthis loop until she has finished. You canget roughly two hits in after her final Lightning Strike, but we wouldn’t risk more than that here!
Spiked Pillar Barrage
Next up inphase twois herSpiked Pillar Barrage, which can be a hassle to dodge but not so bad once you get it down. Much like in phase one, Benedicta willsummon Spiked Pillars above and below the lift before she launchesthem toward the lift.
However, in this phase, theSpiked Pillars on the top row will be lined up directly across from the ones on the bottom, creating atiny sliver of space for you to stand on the lift. You mustquickly identify this safe space and move toit before she launches the Pillars!
Following that, we have theMultiple Teleporting Spiked Pillars, which has Benedictasummon two Spiked Pillars in before she hurtles them through the teleporter, having themreappear from the other one and travel across the screena second time.
To evade this attack, wesuggest standing on the top part of the lift and only jumping over the highest Spiked Pillar twice, making the chance of getting hit by them slim. After you dodge the Spiked Pillar, you canquickly drop down and deliver a few hits on Benedictabefore she launches her following action!
Lastly, we have herGhastly Orbsattack again, whichfollows the same principle, except werecommend only attempting to Guard them or Evade through themandrun in a circle around the lift until they all burst.
Whichever way you choose to deal with them is up to you, but wesuggest going for a few hits on Benedicta the moment the final Orb breaks,as this will be one of the few opportunities you have to get several on her during this phase!
