Sonic Superstarshas a boatload of Stages for you to clear and formidable Bosses to take down along the way, with Bridge Island being the first Stage you will speed through in the game’s Story Mode. And, of course, you couldn’t have a Sonic game without Doctor Eggman attempting to defeat Sonic with his over-the-top creations.

Serving as the game’s tutorial stage and boss encounter, you will be fighting Mecha Robotnik for your first boss encounter, which is as you’d expect for such an encounter. It’s not overly challenging or complex; once you discover his weakness, you will be home free!

Sonic Superstars: How To Beat Mecha Robotnik In Bridge Island

As mentioned above,Mecha Robotnikserves more or less as the game’stutorial bossand is the first boss encounter you will have in theBridge Island Stage. He hastwo phases, with the first being the trickiest of the bunch, as his full-body mech can be hard to get a clean hit on. Luckily, there’s a way to avoid it entirely!

Mecha Robotnik: Phase One Guide

Phase Oneis by far the trickiest, as youcan jump underneath his arms and deal damage, but he will often menacingly walk toward you without attacking, making him hard to read or deal damage to. Fortunately, you should have theAvatar Chaos Emerald(Blue) by this point, which will have youbreeze through this phasein no time.

Hold down the R2/RTandflick your analog stick toward the Avatar Chaos Powerto equip it, thenpress Square/Xto activate it. This will have your charactercreate a wave of clones that will flood the screen, damaging everything and anything in their path.

As such, this willconstantly damage Mecha Robotnik, almost instantaneously dropping him into his second phase.Unfortunately, your Avatar Clones will expire by the time the next phase starts.

They will also deactivate if you take damage, but Mecha Robotnik won’t have much time to launch an attack when your clones are out, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that too much here!

Mecha Robotnik: Phase Two Guide

Moving onto oursecond and final phaseof the Mecha Robotnik fight, having hishovercraftbe the only thing left intact, it’s mucheasier to tell where you need toland your hits(the top of his head) andwhen you should take the opportunityto do so.

As soon as this phase begins, hewill alwaysfly toward the bottom right corner of the screen, giving you a freebie torun forward and jump onto his head. From there, he willfly upward and hover over you before suddenly slamming downwardwith tremendous force.

The moment yousee him begin to descend, move out of the way, then jump on top of his head after he slams into the ground. This hit willdestroy his hovercraft, causing him to flee the area, wrapping up your first boss encounter in Sonic Superstars!
