With the penultimate boss being such a challenging and rewarding encounter, we’d be lying if we said Incarnate Devotion was the best note to endBlasphemous 2on, especially since this is the boss you will be facing in both Ending A and B, with no differences between the two.

Regardless, this is what we have to work with, and it’s as by the numbers as you can get, allowing you to build back some confidence after getting mopped by Eviterno for a few hours straight and debating if these games are actually for you… Anyways…

How To Beat Incarnate Devotion

SinceIncarnate Devotionis thefinal boss encounterof Blasphemous 2, itoffers no rewards, allowing us to dive straight into the guide. As covered earlier, this encounter is much more straightforward than most othersin the game.

Incarnate Devotiononly has eight attacks, whichhe will cycle through in a largely predictable manner, allowing you to capitalize on the situation and begin rolling the credits on your long-fought journey!

The Penitent One approaching Incarnate Devotion in Blasphemous 2

Ground: Beams One

Ourfirst four attacks will occur on the ground, with thefist almost always being two Beams of Light traveling across the ground. The first wave of Beams willstart from the center of the stage and then move outwardtoward you.

To evade these Beams of Light, simply jump toward the Beam closest to you and Air Dash through itto avoid taking any damage. After Air Dashing, you canbegin striking at Incarnate Devotion’s Heartto start chipping away at his health!

Ground: Beams Two

Hisnext attackwillalso likely involve two Beams of Light. However, this time, they will begin at the edges of the arena before closing in on the center, then passing through and going to the opposite side, and are a bit trickier to avoid.

To deal with this version of the Beams, whichever Beam you are the closest to jump toward, then Air Dash through, thenwait for the second Beam to pass through the centerand begin approaching you, thenjump toward it and Air Dash through itto avoid taking damage altogether.

After avoiding the second Beam, you canbegin hitting Incarnate Devotion’s Heartto start dealing even more damage!

Ground: Explosions

Following that will be hisGround Explosions, having Incarnate Devotionsummon several Orbs along the ground before detonating them.Theexplosions will start from the side where the first Orb appearedand thenmove in ascending order.

Stand near the center of the arena, and as soon as you seethe first Orb explode, Double Jump and Air Dash toward it,having youfall into the now empty spaceto avoid taking all damage.

Once you land, you canuse the Bleeding Miracle Prayer to deal damage from a safe distanceuntilenough of the Orbs explode and clear a pathway for you to use your weaponsafely!

Ground: The Floor Is Lava

From here, we willbegin transitioning to the Air-based portionof the encounter, havingIncarnate Devotion set the ground on fireafter convenientlyspawning four platforms above youto jump on to avoid taking damage.Jump on any of the platforms to resolve thismechanic!

Air: Beams One

Once you’re in the air, Incarnate Devotion will… use the same moves and only add one new one into the mix. So, first things first will be theBeams of Light, which arehandled the same way as earlier, except now with a much smaller area to work with.

Thefirst set of Beamswillstart from the center of the stage and then push outward. As soon as yousee the Beams spawn in the center, jump to one of the outermost platformsandwait for the Beam to approach you.Once it gets close enough, jump toward it, then Air Dash to punch through it.

Like before, you canbegin attacking Incarnate Devotion after dashing through the Beam of Lightto shave off his health!

Air: Beams Two

Following that are theother Beams of Light, which willstart from the edges of the stage before ultimately closing in on the center, passing through it, and making their way to the opposite sideof the stage.

Themoment you see the Beams spawn on the outside edgeof the stage, jump on one of the innermost platforms, thenjump toward and Air Dash through the one closest to you, wait for the other one, and do the same to it,landing attacks on Incarnate Devotion after evadingthe second one!

Air: Explosions

After that will be theExploding Orbs, whichfollow the same strategy as the ones earlier, having Incarnate Devotionsummon several Orbs beneath the floating platforms before they explode one by one. They willexplode in the order they are placed,so be mindful of where the first one lands.

As soonas you see the first one land, position yourself on the uppermost platform on the opposite endand wait for it to explode. After the first Orb explodes, Double Jump through the center of the stage, then Air Dash to the platform opposite of the one you were just onto avoid all damage.

From here, wait for the explosion to clear a pathway to Incarnate Devotion, then move up to him andbegin unloading onto himuntil he begins his next attack!

Air: Flowers

Next up is hisone new attack, which has himsummon four Flowers around himself that periodically spew Orbs of Lightout. HisHeart will become shieldedhere until you destroy the Flowers, so make them your top priority.

Destroy the lowermost Flower that’s closest to you, thenmove to the one above it.After destroying this one,Double Jump across the center of the stage, then Air Dash to the uppermost Flower on the opposite end.Destroy this one, thendrop down to the one beneath itand take it out.

Youmust move fast here as the Flowers will begin to respawn if you take too long, but using the strategy above will give you the most direct and fastest route to all of them!

Ground: Feather Barrage

After youdestroy the Flowers,Incarnate Devotion’sHeart will become unshielded, and theplatforms will despawn. From here, he will launch his final new attack, hisFeather Barrage.

This attack willbriefly show you the outlines of where the Feathers will land, giving you abrief window to reposition yourself to avoid taking damage. He willlaunch two to three waves of Feathersat you. Simplykeep repositioning yourself between the Feathersto resolve this mechanic.

Whileyou can deal damage to him here, we advise against it, as the timing is very tight, and he will go back to his other attacks immediately after this!

Repeat

Uponfinishing the Feather Barrageportion of the encounter,Incarnate Devotion will repeat the same steps as earlier, which goes as follows:

Thiscycle will repeat until you defeat Incarnate Devotion.Whilethe attacks in between The Floor Is Lava and Flowers will be random, they willalways be the same handful of attacks, all of which areresolved the exact same waythey were earlier!
