Lesmes, Incorrupt Sacrtistan: Phase One Guide
Thefirst phaseof this long-winded encounter isjust between the Penitent One and Lesmes,Incorrupt Sacristan.Lesmes has four attacksthey will cycle through, each of which deals mass amounts of damage on contact but can be easily punished if you know how to evade them.
You can learn more about each attack of Lemes' in the sections below, coveringhow to telegraph, evade, and even punish themand get several hits of your own in return!

Flame Cyclones
Lesmes willoften open the encounter up with his Flame Cyclonesattack, having himslam his pillar into the ground, creating several streams of intense flame. While this move may look daunting, it’s actually the easiest to read, evade, and punish.
In theimage above, you canclearly see the Penitent One getting clipped by the flameon the Flame Cyclone closest to Lesmes but not taking any damage. Fortunately, the edges of the Flame Cyclones have no hitbox, meaningthey will not deal damage to you if you touch them.

This also means thatyou can stand at the edge of the one closest to Lesmes and just lay into him until he finishes the attack, allowing you tocarve away at his health in the blink of an eye.Anytime you see him wind his pillar up to slam into the ground, stand nearby to take advantage of the situation.
Hewill typically do this attack after performing his Spiraling Flame Orbs or the Charging Strikefrom this point forward andwill seldom do it sporadically or when following his Plunging Flames. That’s not to say he will never do it any other time. It’s just very rare!

Spiraling Flame Orbs
Next up isLesmes' Spiraling Flame Orbs, whichhas him turn into a ball of fire before taking to the skieswith his pillar, summoning six other Flame Orbs around himself. After this, he willbegin spiraling toward you, stopping only when he reaches the cornerof the stage.
Hesometimes goes from corner to cornerbut almost always stops upon reaching the first corner. Thismove is easily telegraphed and can be dodged by Evading through one of the Fire Orbs and running awayfrom Lesmes.

After Lesmes stops, heoften goes directly into his Flame Cyclones attackbutsometimes tosses out his Plunging Flamesattack, sobe prepared to evade and handle either one. While he can do both, hewill almost always perform Flame Cyclonesimmediately after!
Plunging Flames
Plunging Flamesis an attacksimilar to Flame Cyclonesbuthas Lesmes leap high into the air before slamming his pillar down with force, creating individual Flame Cycloneson impact, repeating the process three timesbefore stopping.
For this attack, youmust Evade away from the individual Flame Cyclones, meaningif he starts closer to the right sideof the arena, you must make your way to the left.Werecommend not moving too far away from the previous Flame Cyclone,as you will want togive yourself space to move for the remaining ones.

You canland a few hits each time he lands, butwe suggest not even risking ituntil he performs his final one,as he moves pretty quickly and can catch you off guard for significant damage. Play it safe, and wait for him to finish the attack and go into the next one!
Charging Strike
Lastly, we have Lesmes’Charging Strikeattack, the simplest to read, evade, and punish out of his entire kit. For this move, he willcock his arm back with the pillar, temporarily pause, then deliver a Charging Strikewith it that deals substantial damage on contact.
To evadethis attack, simply jump over him and get behind him, allowing you toland several uncontested hits on Lesmes before his follow-up attack, whichcan be any of the four movesin his arsenal!

Sleeping Infanta: Phase Two Guide
Now that you’ve exhausted Lesmes' health bar, the fight is over… right? Think again! It’s time to battle theSleeping Infanta, which was stored within that golden pillar-thing Lesmes was lugging around and beating you with.
At the start of this phase, the pillar will be on the floorwhere you defeated Lesmes.Quickly run up to it and start laying into it.You candeal sizable damage to the Sleeping Infantaby doing this, giving youa decent advantage before he even emerges and begins attacking!

Dashing Spikes
Unlike Lesmes, theSleeping Infanta only has three attacks, all of which are well-telegraphed. The first of the bunch isone he will almost always start with, that being theDashing Spikesattack.
Here, Sleeping Infantasummons a series of Spikes in a circle around himself before violently dashing forward, stopping only when he reaches the cornerof the arena. This action iseasily avoided by jumping over himbefore he reaches you.

After you land, quickly make your way over to him to land several hits of your ownon him before he executeshis next move, whichcan be another Dashing Spikes or the other two actionswe will cover below!
Spike Shot
Spike Shotis another common attack of Sleeping Infanta’s, having himleap into the air before firing off a single Spikeat the Penitent One. This attack iseasily avoided by Evading just before it reaches you or by running in the opposite directionuntil it makes contact with the ground.
Youcan also Guard this attack, but, for this phase, we found it easier to Evade through it, as it will bring you closer to the Sleeping Infantawhen they land, giving you ample time to attackthem. From here, they will do any of their three attacks.
Fury Spikes
Our last attack for the Sleeping Infanta is theirFury Spikes, whichhas them leap high into the air before turning purple and raining the remainder of their Spikes downonto the Penitent One. While a bit more daunting than the previous move, it’s dealt with similarly.
Here, you canEvade through the first one, then run in the opposite direction of their trajectoryto avoid them entirely,or you can Guard all of them.Whichever method you choose will work, asboth will allow you to follow up with attacks of your own after the Sleeping Infanta lands.
After the Sleeping Infanta performs this action, however, they will almost always follow it up with the Dashing Spikesattack, asthat’s when they typically summon more Spikesto use. So be prepared for that action more than any of the others!
Lesmes And Infanta: Phase Three Guide
…Wait, there’s still more? Of course there is! It wouldn’t be a Soulslike without at least one boss encounter with three phases. Thisthird phaseis really something else, and by that, we mean it’s some straight-up ‘you know what.’
This phase has youfight both Lesmes and Infanta simultaneously, leading to one of the most hellish encounters in the game. The one good thing here is thatthey gain no new moves…We guess. You can learn how to best this duo in the section below!
Pure Chaos
Simply put, this phase is pure chaos, whichwill likely take a few attempts to get downto a science. As covered above, neither Lesmes nor Infanta gains new actions here,so you will bemore or less dodging the same attacks with the twist of having to dodge two at once sometimes.
While this may seem impossible,it’s very doable if you prioritize your targets, learn when and when not to attack, and deal with certain actions in specific ways!
Guard Fury Spikes
Speaking of dealing with certain actions in specific ways, during phase three,we recommend always Guarding Infanta’s Fury Spikes, asthat will be the attack that tears you apart the most, messing up your timing and rhythm.
If you try relying on your ability to time your Evades and jumps, you will likely have a very, very bad time during this phase due to this attack specifically.Guarding this action not only has you avoid taking damage altogether but also enables you to react quickly to whatever Lesmes is doingright after!
Look For An Opening
Trying to detect an opening can be rough, but there are afew actions you should keep an eye out for,as they will almost guarantee the other target will be wide open for your assault.
The first isLesmes' Spiraling Fire Orbs, which willhave him travel to the corner of the arena, leaving Infanta stranded on the opposite end. Here, wait for Lesmes to get close to you,Evade through a Fire Orb,and thenmake your way to Infanta to land a few hits of your own.
Second up isLesmes' Flame Cyclones, whichcan be dealt with the same way you did in phase one, butplease be mindful of Infanta’s positioning and what they’re doingas well. If yousee them about to use their Dashing Spikes or Fury Spikes, thenabort the plan and prepare to dodgethem. If they fire offa single Spike, you canEvade away from Lesmes and through the Spikebefore it reaches you, thenresume your offenseon Lesmes.
Lesmes more or less controls where your positioning will bein the arena, whereasInfanta will try to force you into the madnessby launching Spikes at you or charging at you. You will be golden once you get the pattern and rhythm down of dealing with both of them.
Focus On Infanta
While both are a nuisance to deal with, westrongly urge you to dispatch Infanta firstfor several reasons. First, as already mentioned, their sole purpose is to throw you off your rhythm and make you make mistakes.
The second reason isthey simply have the smallest health pool of the two, allowing you totake them out rather quickly if you focus your effortson them. Thisdoesn’t mean you should ignore Lesmes completely. We juststrongly advise not trying to eliminate him first, as his health bar is far largerin comparison.
Repeat Phase One
Lastly, after you dispatch Infanta first, you are essentially left with phase one all over again.Lesmes will do the same exact attacks, all dealt with the same.Don’t lose your composure here. Justfollow the blueprint you have locked down and finish the fight!
