If you aim to advance inLords Of The Fallenstory, you’ll have to face numerous tough bosses along your journey. These bosses aren’t a walk in the park, and although their difficulty varies from one to another, they’ll always present a challenge, one way or another.
Once you reach Pilgrim’s Perch in the game, you’ll come across Gentle Gaverus, the Mistress of Hounds, standing at the end of your way. While she isn’t exceptionally hard, when you deal with her, it can be tricky. This guide will cover her attack patterns and offer an effective strategy for taking her and her hounds down.
Gentle Gaverus, Mistress Of Hounds Attacks
Gentle Gaverus is primarilyan archer, and most of her attacks come from a distance. What can make her a bit annoying isthe hounds she summonsduring the fight.
Before we dive into her attack pattern, let’s tackle those pesky hounds. These hounds havearmored heads that usually take two hits to break. However, you cansneak up on them from behind and take them out easily.
Their attacks are quite predictable and not too hard to dodge. They have two main moves:
Now, let’s get back to the Mistress herself. She wieldsboth a bow and a short sword, but her primary weapon is her bow.
Interestingly, shehas just three attacksbecause she mainly relies on her hounds. Her primary bow attacks consist of two types:
The first one is when she sits on the ground and plants her bow, thenreleases charged bow attacks that inflict Smite on you.
The other one is when she simplyshoots at you with regular ranged bow attackswhile moving around.
Her final attack is a melee combo whereshe swings her sword when you get close.
Sometimes, she vanishes into smoke andrepositions herself in the arenato maintain her distance.
Gentle Gaverus, Mistress Of Hounds Strategy
Gaverusdoesn’t have a lot of health, and she’s not too tough to handle, so no need to fret.
As soon as you step into the boss arena, you’ll find Gaverus in the middle, where she positions herself and starts firing charged arrows at you.
Instead of going straight for her,look to your right, andyou’ll see two hounds summoned. To defeat the hounds efficiently,target their backs, and they should go down swiftly. Remember thatGaverus will continue to fire arrows at you, so stay alert.
It’s worth noting that there’s abouta five-second gap between each charged arrow attackshe makes.
After dealing with the hounds,go after Gaverus, who’ll be ready for close combat.
She’ll likely startshooting basic arrow attacks at you, which are easy to dodge bymoving to the sideor, even better,running past them.
After dodging one of her arrow attacks, you canclose the distance and execute a full combo on her, then quickly step back.
Following this, she might switch to her sword andperform a series of swinging attacks. These can beeasily parriedordodged by moving backward. Once she finishes her combo,you can land more attacks on her.
But don’t get too caught up, asthe hounds will reappear periodically. So, every now and then, keep an eye open on your surroundings.
The hounds will be summoned multiple times during the fight, so whenever you see them,make sure to deal with them before refocusing on Gaverus.
Usually, when the hounds are around, she’llreposition herself and prepare for her charged arrow attacks.
After handling the hounds, return to Gaverus, dodge her arrow attacks, and then deliver a full combo.
If you manage to circle around to her back,a fully charged heavy attack can inflict significant posture damage, making it easier to stagger her.
Whenever she performs her melee combo, the most effective way to deal with it isby parrying it, as it’s predictable andtypically consists of two or three attacks.
In essence, the fight against the Mistress Of Hounds revolves arounddealing with the houndsfirstand then focusing on Gaverus whilealways keeping an eye on when the hounds reappear.
Gentle Gaverus, Mistress Of Hounds Rewards
After you successfully defeat Gentle Gaverus, Mistress Of Hounds, you will be able to get the following items as your reward.
