How To Beat The Red Prince
TheRed Prince is very fastand he wants you very dead. There’s onlyone arena to fight inbut he has a prettynasty trick that shrinks itconsiderably andinstantly kills anyonetoo slow enough to react, so it can bepretty frustrating. The biggest piece of advice is tobring your strongest gun, thickest armor, and afull party or at least one co-op partnerto draw aggro and help you whittle him down.
In his first phase, the Prince will aggressively go on the attack as hefloats around the arena. If you’re playing solo he’llcontinually rush you downwith big swings of his fiery sword or willperform projectile attacksif you get too far away. The first is afiery wave in the shape of a slash, and the other is aset of flaming swordsthat fire out in ashotgun spray arc.

Both of these attackscan be rolled throughto avoid, and it’shighly recommendedyou do. If you get it hit it willpermanently stack CURSEon you, limiting your health bar size permanentlyuntil you run out of room in your bar or die from another hit. They’re part of hisbasic attack pattern, so they’ll pop off often. Just roll out of the way,try to stay on the opposite floorfrom him, andkeep dumping damageat his head as it’s his weak point.
Attacks
Flame spears
Five flaming spears circle the prince and then fire out from his front and sides.

Teleport Stab
If you wander too far from the Prince he’ll teleport directly to you and open with a single strike and then a three-hit-combo.
The Prince sends a flaming arc with a sword swing.
The Fire Wave
A circle of fire will appear with a safe spot in the center. Anything not inside it will instantly die.
During all of these attacks, the Prince will alsospawn two flame clones of himselfthat areslow and only use melee swings, but their attacksinflict both BURN and CURSE. But they’repretty weakso you can kill them with a couple of shots.Focus on them first, then turn your attention back to the prince.

The Ring Of Fire
The other big attack that you’re going to learn to hate is theFire Waveand it’s worth highlighting it. This second phase move activates afterthe Red Prince gets to around half healthand from then on it getsfolded into his move listas he cycles through his attacks. When it triggers you’ll see theentire room fill with a wall of firethat willextend outand then start torapidly shrinkin. Thecenter circleof the arena is theonly safe spotand if you’re left standing on thelower tieror theouter circlesby the time the fire starts to sweep back in,you’re dead.
There’s no damage tick down,it’s instant deathand the same applies if you happen to eitherfall or get knocked outof the center circle before theflames disappearagain. This attack is areal test of your patienceand the entire time you’retrapped in that small spot, the Red Prince is still attacking.

Whilststuck in this spotthe Red Prince will alsocontinue his projectile attacksas well as aclose-range sweep, a chargingDMC-style stinger, and on the floor near the edges of the circle are small pools of fire that will inflict a burn debuff on you whenever they’re stood on. TheFire Clones will also appearand hound you in this small area, so it’sa lot popping off all at once.
Your only option here is to justcontinually dodgeand try to stay out of the Red Prince’s range until theflame walls disappear. You can dump some damage on him, but it’sgoing to be minimalas the spacing between the attack cycles isjust a few seconds, and those hits really hurt and stillinflict you with CURSE. So all around it’snot a great spotto be in.

Playing with a partywill help a lot as thePrince will swap his aggro focusto different players intermittently. It’s not much, but it gives you a bit ofbreathing roomto attack, heal or reload.
