Extreme violence and grotesque visuals are the name of the game inMortal Kombat 1, giving us some of the most detailed Fatalities and Brutalities in the series, making even the seasoned veterans a little squeamish from time to time. Whether you’re invested in the characters, immense gore, engaging gameplay, or all of the above, you will be jumping for joy when you finally land a Fatality or Brutality on your opponent.

While there are only two Fatalities for each character, there are many more Brutalities, ensuring you have several ways to dismember the opposition, which is certainly not a bad thing. We think. Even with a few fan-favorite activities missing from the complete package and a lack of cosmetics, we can still appreciate the one aspect of the game that is undeniably a bloody good time!

Updated July 23, 2025, by Seth Parmer:Conan the Barbarian is finally in Mortal Kombat 1 and is a fierce competitor through and through. With high-damaging combos and devastating attacks, you may guarantee his Brutalities will be equally as grotesque and unhinged, which you can learn how to perform for yourself with the updated guide below!

How To Unlock Every Brutality In Mortal Kombat 1

Leveling the playable characters and Kameos up in Mortal Kombat 1 will unlock many things, ranging from Palettes to Gear to Fatalities and even Brutalities, making the grind to Mastery that much more rewarding and worth the effort. Even if it may take much longer than you’re probably anticipating.

The good news, however, is thatevery playable character has five unlockable Brutalitiesto unlock via their Master Rank. These ranks areMaster Rank 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15.While every character can obtain five Brutalities via leveling up,some will have access to a default onecalledThe Klassic, giving a handful of characters six total Brutalities instead of five.

In contrast,Kameosare very similar but follow a different unlock pattern, having their Brutalities become available atMaster Ranks 2 and 11,giving themonly two obtainable Brutalities rather than fivelike the playable cast can get.

Brutality Unlock Information

You must unlock the Brutality first before performing them, so while you may know the proper inputs and commands, they are inaccessible until you actually obtain them via leveling up its corresponding character/Kameo!
