Upon reaching Act Three inBaldur’s Gate 3, your party will be met with several obstacles to get around. Your goal is to enter Wyrm’s Rock Fortress, and Gortash’s forces are in no rush to let you in. You’ll either need to be direct or creative to gain access to the fortress.

Moving through Wyrm’s Crossing is a breeze if you know what to do, but with so many options available at this point in the game, it can be tricky to know where to go. you may enter the fortress using all the skills you’ve learned thus far.
How To Get Past The South Span Checkpoint
The first step togetting into Wyrm’s Rockis to pass throughtheSouth Span Checkpoint. While there areseveral ways to do this, some of which are creative and magical, all that matters isgetting to the other sidein one piece.
You cantake a detourto climb around. Follow thepath to the eastof the checkpoint andjump onto the platform.
From there,climb the ladder and boxesto reach the other side. You’ll havesafely snuck around the guards(just don’t go back until you’ve entered Wyrm’s Rock, or the guards will stop you again).
Once you’re on the other side, you’ll need to find a way toenter the fortressitself.
How To Enter The Fortress
Now that you’re through the Southern Checkpoint, you’ll haveaccess to new establishmentsbefore entering the Lower City.
You have several routes ahead of you that cangrant access to the city. Whether you choose to help others, sneak your way inside, or cheat a little bit, you’ll be well on your way toleaping into Act Three.
Bribe Or Persuade The Guards
If youpass a persuasion check, you canbribe the guardsto let you in. The cost is incredibly high, coming inat 20,000 goldfor clearance. You don’t have to pay, but you’ll need to find another way into the fortress.
You can opt to fight the guards as well, though it’s a tough battle. If you manage to bring everyone down, the drawbridge will still be raised, and you’ll need to find another way into the fortress.
You can also try topass a Deception Check of 30to trick the guards into thinking you’re protecting Ulder Ravengard or Gortash, though it will be a tough check to pass.
Open Hand Temple Murders Pass
If youinvestigate the murders at the temple, you can earn a pass into the city for further investigation. To start this quest,speak to Sister Yannisinside the temple. You’ll find hertalking to a flying elephantwith a monocle.
She’s quitehard to miss, and she can play a vital role ingetting you into the Lower City.
Investigate The Suspicious Toys Pass
If you’ve been followingArfur Gregorioand hisInvestigate The Suspicious Toys Quest, you can find him in Sharess' Caress enjoying the show.Speak to him, and you canblackmail him into giving you his passinto the city.
This will allow you to convince the guards tolower the drawbridgeso you canenter Wrym’s Rock.
Sharess' Caress Pass
Ifyou’re feeling stealthyor prefer to commit illegal acts to make your way into Baldur’s Gate, you cansteal a passfrom the Sharess' Caress. Head up the stairs, turn into the hallway, and go up the next set of stairs toreach the balcony. There, you’llfind a locked door.
Pick the lock and steal thepass by the bathtub.If you disrupt Naoise and Jara, a cutscene will start whereJara becomes a mind flayer,and you must slay her.
After the battle, you may have asmall moment with Naoise,where youearn the Rapture conditionuntil your next long rest.
Break Into Prison
Alternatively, you cansneak around the guards(potentially for the second time) if all else fails or if you’d rather save time. Head to theright of the drawbridgeto where there’s a break in the railing. CastFeather Fallon the party and leap down to the path below.
Follow it around theside of the fortressto where you’ll reach a cliff. Before descending the rope ladder, you can face the stone wall andpass a perception checkto notice the entrance. Climbing through willgrant you accessto Wyrm’s Rock.
Dimension Door Or Wild Shape
Additionally, you canuse Wild Shapeif all else fails. At just the right angle, you canfly past the drawbridge as a ravenand enter Wyrm’s Rock without having to deal with anyone.
you may also use the spellDimension Doortobypass the guardsand step directly into the fortress, though this method can be a bit finicky.
Get Invited To Gortash’s Inauguration
Once you enter Wyrm’s Rock Fortress, talk toa member of the Steel Watch. You’ll beinvited to Gortash’s ceremony, and thedrawbridge will be loweredfor the rest of the party to follow–in case you had to leave them behind to get in.
