It’s hard not to loot everything you come into contact with. Touching the wrong backpack or entering forbidden grounds without permission can give you a swift detour to jail inBaldur’s Gate 3. Going to jail means the one character caught will be locked behind bars, unable to go anywhere, and their weapons will be confiscated.
Getting imprisoned is not the end of your adventures, though. There are ways that you can get out of having to do jail time. Or better yet, you can break out of prison on your own. Just verify you don’t get caught.

What To Say To Avoid Getting Arrested In Baldur’s Gate 3
So you got caught stealing something. You still have a chance to redeem yourself.A guard should find you and accuse you of said crimes. You can do a few things to avoid jail time here.
Talk Your Way Out Of It
You canconvince the guard in question that it was an accidentor that you have a right to be where you are. This requires passingPersuasion, Deception, or Intimidationskill checks. Passing a skill check to diffuse the guard’s aggro will allow you to continue as you were.If you leave, come back, and do it again, they will get angry again, though.
Only the character you are controlling will get in trouble. If you are entering an area you shouldn’t and convince the guards to let you through, they will stop your companions next.

Bribery
Money is another option that will always work. You can bribe the guardwho stopped you into forgetting this ever happened. If you do not possess the amount of money you are offering, the guard will only get more upset.
If bribing, make sure you actually have that money to give.

How To Escape Druid Grove Prison
The first area you can get arrested in is Druid Grove in Act 1. There is a locked housenear the makeshift prisonthat will alert guards if you try to lockpick it and enter. There are also some crates that are not yours to loot.
To escape the Druid Grove prison, you have three options.
If you choose to lockpick your way out but do not have Thieves Tools on the jailed character, you can easilyswitch to another party member and purchase Thieves Toolsfrom a trader. You can then place the tools inside the imprisoned character’s inventory.
How To Parkour
To escape on foot by parkour, look no further than thebroken wooden wall to the left. In the left corner of the jail cell, you can pass a Perception check to find anexplosive plant in the corner.
Disarm the plantby taking damage from it or byhitting it from afarwith an arrow or thrown weapon. you may Jump over the open corner onto some side cliffs where this explosive plant is.

These cliffs each containone explosive plant per platformand will only be revealed by passing a Perception check.
Jump along the cliffside until you can climb back up. You may reveal a secret door.Near this door, you can Jump back into the prison area. Be warned that as soon as you do, you may initiate combat with guards.

How To Escape Goblin Camp Prison
Like any other prison, you can Misty Step or use an Arrow of Teleportation to swiftly travel through the jail bars and onto the other side. You may also lockpick the cell door in the Goblin Camp Worg Pen prison. Getting caught by the guards will spell trouble, though.
Instead of going out the way you came, you caninteract with a Mysterious Hole in the wall(see photo above). There is a body stuffed inside the hole that you’re able to remove.

Entering the hole willlead you to an obscured cornerin the Shattered Sanctum, near the entrance to the Worg Pens. No one will see you in this corner, and you can safely breathe and prepare for your next move.
How To Escape Moonrise Towers Prison
Instead of rescuing the imprisoned gnomes and tieflings from Moonrise Towers, you may get imprisoned with them. Three guards on duty and three Scrying Eye’s are in the cell area, making this get-away a tough one.
There is a hole in your prison cellyou can safely jump down, but this leads to adangerous and hostileIllithid Oubliette with Hook Horrors to face. Because you are in prison, you do not have your weapons and are at a disadvantage going down there.

We recommend not exploring down thereuntil you have gathered your group and weapons back.
To rescue the prisoners and your imprisoned character, you cankill the guards one by one secretly. You can use another party member to sneak around and do so.Use line of sight to your benefitand stay in the shadows while taking guards and the Warden out one by one.

Whether you get rid of the guards or not, you must access the control levers for the jail cells using another party member.
How To Kill The Guards Without A Big Fight
One guard and Scrying Eye will always walk to the end of the hall, heading near where you entered from. This area before the stairs is obscured from onlookers.
In this area, thestone railing is brokenat the very end. By staying out of line of sight and using a strong character, you canshove the guard off the railingand into the pit once he comes around. Make sure only one person walks over.Wait until he turns toward the railing and shove.
You can stay in this area and wait for the Scrying Eye to turn the corner and walk towards the stairs. You mustkill the Scrying Eye in one or two hitsin this location before it can call reinforcements and before the second eye shows up. Repeat for the second eye.
To kill the Warden, you’re able to have a party member distract her by starting dialogue. Use your strong character to shove her off the railing into the pitwhen she is near the bridge in front of Wulbren.
you may start a fight with the remaining guard without a big fight ensuing because everyone else will be gone.
How To Escape Baldur’s Gate Prison
Baldur’s Gate is a big city, and being there means you’re near the end of the game. The last thing you need is to get locked up with a bunch of good-for-nothings; but alas, accidents happen. You have two options for escape.
From the Lower City prison, you canlockpickyour way out of the prison cell.
You won’t have anything on hand - but you can switch to another party member and open the party inventory. From there, you canmove Thieves Tools into your imprisoned characters inventory.
Similarly, you may switch to a party memberoutside the prison and look for a merchant to try and buy a Misty Step scroll or Arrow of Teleportation, then put it in the imprisoned character’s inventory.
If you teleport outside your cell while guards are around, they will aggro. There are four guards on dutyin the Baldur’s Gate prison.
You may want tohave your party make their way to the prisonquarters to back you up.
How To De-Aggro Guards And Find Your Weapons
When you illegally escape any prison in the game, you get the status effect called “Fugitive.”
The Fugitive status effectonly lasts nine turns. If you don’t want to massacre an entire town, you could just wait out the status effect until it is safe to leave.
Alternatively, you canCrouch and sneak out of the area unseen, which will require some skill.
When you get arrested in Baldur’s Gate 3,the guards will take absolutely everything in your inventory. You must find and retrieve your weapons after escaping. They usually end up in a chest near the prison area.
