InPalia, you’ll be spending a lot of time honing skills like Mining, so you can make new tools, craft new items, and fulfill quests for the residents of Kilima Village. It takes a lot of experience points and time to level your skills up, but there is a system implemented to make the grind faster and easier: Focus.

In this guide, we’ll explain what Focus is, what the Focus Bar is, and how utilizing it can help you max out your skills quickly and gain access to the best tools and unique rewards.

What Is The Focus Bar?

The Focus Bar, located in the top left of your screen, is the representation of how much Focus you currently have, andwhen it’s filled it gives you a bonus to the experience you gain after completing a skill task, such as mining a rock or crafting a piece of furniture. Having any amount of Focus in your Focus Bargives you a bonus of 30 percent experience pointstowards whatever skill you’re doing, and a full bar increases it further.

Focus will gradually deplete as you complete skill tasks, so you need to refill it periodically. Keeping your focus high means that you willgain skill points more often and level those skills faster, which in turn allows you to quickly unlock purchasable rewards from NPC skill shops once you reach the maximum level.

How To Gain Focus

Focus is gained byconsuming crops, foraged ingredients, and cooked food dishes. At the lowest level, ingredients like Mountain Morel mushrooms give five Focus per one eaten, whilecooking food dishes such as Grilled Meat or Ramenprovides a greater Focus gain.

Themore complicated the recipe is, the more Focus you’ll gain from it, and the easier it will be to keep your Focus Bar full.

How To Increase Your Maximum Focus

Initially, you start with a maximum of 200 Focus, but bypraying and spending 100 Renown at the Dragon Statue at Maji’s Hollowyou can further increase your maximum Focus, as each prayer permanently increases your Focus by 50 points.

Your Renown caps out at 1,000, so it’s a good ideato regularly spend it on Focus upgradesif you aren’t spending it on Plot Expansion Writs at the Mayor’s Office.
