The Pale Forest is an early area inImmortals Of Aveum, but you won’t find all of its secrets on the first visit. If you come back after completing the main story quest at the Shrineforge, you’ll be able to access new areas in the Pale Forest that contain powerful upgrades - provided you can survive the Shroudfanes, of course.

How To Find And Complete The Balance Fane
After learning how to ride Leylines, return to the Pale Forest and travel to the first portal, Windrift Pass. You’ll see a Green Leyline; follow it until it dips low enough for you to ride it.
The Leyline will drop you off at the entrance to theBalance Fane.Inside, you’ll need to traverse a perilously narrow course while Nightblade Archers fire at you. An easy way to deal with the enemies here is tomake a running double-jump to their platform, then knock them over the edge with Blastwave or Red Strikes.

The final wave has two squads with Shields, one on each side. Use Limpets to cross the rotating platform quickly; that way you’ll have a better vantage point.
Once you’ve fought your way to the end of the Balance Fane, you’ll be rewarded with aHealth Upgrade.

How To Find The Den Of Kael
Once you’ve learned Refract, return to the Pale Forest and go to the logging camp at Rustwater. Fight the Nightblades that appear, then turn your attention to thelogs suspended by cranes.
Use a Blue Strike to lower the left-hand log, then climb on top of it before it returns to its original position. Jump to the other log, thenactivate the Green Glyphabove you and to the right.

The log that you’re on will swing out over the camp; from here, you should have an angle touse the Refract Crystaland open the locked door below.
You’ll have to be quick, as the log moves right back into position after it swings out. Stand at the end closest to the door for the best angle. Once the door is open, you’re able to go inside to get a Golden Chest andenter the Den Of Kael.

How To Beat Kael
Kael doesn’t mess around in melee - if you let her get too close, she can fry you on the spot. At first, you’ll need to risk some close encounters to wear away at her armor; try going in with full Dominion Mana so that you canopen with Immolate.
Once her armor is gone, keep Kael at a distanceand unload on her withGreen or Blue Strikesand Torrent. Have Disrupt ready to stop her from casting; her fireball spells can one-shot you if they land!
If you’re feeling particularly brave, you can deal a lot of damage to Kael byrushing her with Bashin the brief period where she’s stunned after breaking her spells. Be warned that she’ll retaliate with an explosion centered on herself if you try this!
The Corrosion Beam and Consuming Corrosion Talents in the Red Magic tree help a lot in this fight, since you’ll be able to do damage over time when you successfully Disrupt Kael’s spells.
Above all,use the pillars for cover and keep moving!
Beating Kael lets you claim theBloodbane, a Legendary Breachfire with exceptional attack power, a wide firing arc, and double the normal Armor Shred.
