Baldur’s Gate 3caters to all sorts of preferences; there’s a little something for everyone. But if you’re looking for a sturdy dwarf with a leather whip and also have a thing for libraries, we’re sorry… You’re going to have to wait a long while. A very, very long while.
RELATED:Baldur’s Gate 3: Investigate The Murders Quest Walkthrough
The Stern Librarian is unfortunately “out” from the Sharess' Caress, and if you want to find her, you’re going to have to put on your crime-solving cap and pull out the looking glass. We can’t promise you a reward with a librarian, but we can at least give you some answers and a (cheaper) path to a similar reward.
How To Begin The Quest: Investigating Ffion’s Disappearance
The beginning of this quest isentirely optionalandcan be skippedby taking on the questInvestigate The Open Hand Temple Murders(which also leads you to the key necessary to reach Ffion).
Begin at Sharess' Caressin Wyrm’s Crossing andspeak with Mamzell Amiraat the front desk. She’ll talk about your potential tastes in a dwarf named Ffion. Whether you shun the idea or show interest does not matter; the Mamzell will tell you about Ffion anyway.

You canoffer to look into Ffion’s disappearancefor Amira, and she’ll give you the key to Ffion’s room, the Elminster Library.
Go upstairs to the third floor, walk onto the outside balcony, and enter thefirst room to the rightof the door. A plaque beside the door will confirm it as theElminster Library.

You canuse the key from Amira or lockpick itto enter.
Walk over tothe bedside on the rightandinspect Ffion’s Diaryon the table. It will mention your next destination:Fragyo’s Flophouse.

Where To Find Ffion, The Stern Librarian
Fraygo’s Flophouse is directlyacross the street from Sharess' Caressand is run by adwarf named Dashkent Moliver, mentioned by Ffion. You canspeak with himfor some more information to confirm Ffion was here.
After speaking with Dashkent,go upstairsto the bedroom area. Go into theright roomand thenlook rightagain for aladder leaning against the wall.

Take the ladder to the attic where you’ll notice alarge, wooden wardrobeon the left side. There area few ways to open it:
Behind the wardrobe will be a secret room with several pieces of evidence for the Open Hand Temple Murders. However, for Ffion, you’ll want totake notice of the bed area.

On a high enough Perception roll, you should notice theblood stain on the ground.Investigate it, and you’ll notice abody under the bed.
Pull out the body, and you’ll find Ffion Golgrind, murdered and stashed. She has a note on her and a key.

Ffion’s key willopen a chest on the second floor. The chest is in the roomacross the hallway on the left side near the window.
Be warned thattaking anything from this chest is still marked as stealingdespite having the key.

There aretwo individuals to informabout Ffion’s death:Dashkent MoliverandMamzell Amira.
Dashkent will thank youfor telling him, but you won’t receive any rewards and will also lose the ability to speak with him on any further matters.
Telling Mamzell Amiraabout Ffion’s death does not come with monetary compensation, but you doreceive a free “encounter” with the drow twins,a bargain equivalent to 1,000 gold pieces. After informing Amira, the quest will end, and you can decide if you want to take her up on the generous offer.
