After finishing a couple of missions, you’ll be asked to go after an operative called Maya Cruz in the Surgical Strike quest. This will take you through an abandoned cave where you need to find your own way since the Scanner doesn’t highlight the path for you.

How To Get Into VIP Wing

The quest will first ask you to head over to The Clinic since that’s the best medical facility in the settled system. As you get there and talk to Ben Armistead, he’lltake you over to Ari Miller who will then check a computer for you after a few dialogues. He’ll not find a person named Maya Cruz there, but he will give you a couple of possible aliases.

While getting these names from Ari, you can get a [Security] option toshorten the next part of the dialogue.

If you get this option, you can simply check a computer and get information on Maya’s location.

If you don’t have the Security option, you’ll have to go and talk to the two people Ari mentioned. These won’t be the person you’re looking for, but the quest willask you to head over to the VIP Wing when you talk to Ari again after that. There are two ways to get into this room:

Starfield Urgent Note Location Near Maya Cruz

Once you have access to the VIP area, fight off one turret and enter Maya’s room. In this room, you’ll find an urgent note beside her deskwhere it’ll be mentioned that she’s hiding in an abandoned mine. Your next task is to head over to this mine and attempt to locate her. Your destination will be marked on the map if you have the quest selected.

Abandoned Asteroid Mine Walkthrough

This will be the hardest task in the Surgical Strike quest since the gamedoesn’t create a path in the mines while you’re in the Scanner mode. You’ll have to figure out the way yourself, and it’s not very obvious if you don’t know about a certain mechanic. Once you dock on the mine and board it, you’ll see a small hallway leading into a room.

As you enter this room, you’ll see a door to your left with a button beside it. Press the button toopen the door and then press the second button inside to open another door. Once you get past both of these doors, you’ll find a small path beside a warning sign right in front. Follow this path to locate anEmergency Cuttable Wall at the end.

On this path, you’ll find a Secure Access door on the left side, but there won’t be a button to open it nearby. Instead, you’ll see a wire coming out of the door and going to the other side of the area. Keep heading down the path and you’lleventually see a room to your left and a few boxes to the right. The left room only has a bunch of loot in it, but your path forward is near the crates on the right. Jump down from the end of this platform and you’ll see a giant icicle-type ore leading you to another path above.

From here, you simply have to keep going straight until you find a bunch of stairs going down. As you go down these stairs, you’ll be greeted by an army of turrets and robots that’ll fire at you together. A Sniper Rifle will be extremely useful during this part of the quest. Try to avoid taking damage from them since they’ll reduce your health quite fast.

Should You Kill Maya Cruz Or Not?

When you talk to Maya Cruz, she’ll ask you to either end her life orlet her spend the final few weeks of it however she wants. Here, you’ll get an option to attack her or say that you’re not leaving until you get something you want. No matter which option you choose, you’ll end up getting the required Slate from her.

You can spare her life since it doesn’t get you much apart from a bit of loot. Moreover, deciding to kill her might make your companion dislike the decision. Once you’ve decided her fate, you can use the elevator behind her to head back out of the mine and follow the blue marker to Akila City. The quest ends after you give the Slate to Alex.
