Starfieldhas plenty of smallish colonies, a handful of middle-sized places like Cydonia, and then three fairly big cities: New Atlantis, Akila City, and Neon City. Among them, you’re in New Atlantis within half an hour into the story, and you can get to New Akila not long thereafter.

It’s easy to miss Neon for quite some time, however, even if it’s about as close to New Atlantis as Akila City is. If you want to see the sights of this bright and bustling city as early as you may, read on.

How To Reach Neon In Starfield

Neon is located within theVolii System. Volii’s recommended level is a mere five, signaling that players should feel welcome to fly over there from the get-go. If you’re still piloting the Frontier, however, and you haven’t upgraded it accordingly, the 22-lightyear distance means your maximum range will be insufficient to get you there in one grav jump.

Hey, that’s fine. Unlike some of the places early-game quests may tell you to go - some are quite far away, with recommended levels into the forties! - getting to the Volii System is as simple asplotting a course to the Olympus Systemif you’re coming over from Alpha Centauri. From there, any ship can safely jump the relatively minimal distance between Olympus and Volii.

The planet Neon City is situated upon is calledVolii Alpha, and there will be nothing stopping you from heading straight there once you’re here.

What’s There To Do In Neon City?

Asking what there is to do in Neon City is a bit like asking what there is to do in Las Vegas, except in this case, there’s probably a wider variety of responses for folks not into gambling. The main attraction’s arguablythe Ryujin Industriesfaction, one of the four main factions in Starfield. If you’re interested in joining up with this huge corporation,we’re happy to tell you more.

There’s alsoXenofresh, a former fishing company that’s turned to, shall we say, somewhat darker tides of late. There’s amain questhere, which you’ll embark upon alongside the rich Walter Stroud, and plenty of the usual spots, albeit with more of a glow-up than you’ll see anyplace else in the Settled Systems.

Many of the quests here aremore dubious and will ask you to commit to more grey-area notionsthan you’ll necessarily find in New Atlantis and Akila City. Plus, there’s the general vibe. This place is always raining, and it syncs flawlessly with the glitz and glam of Neon City.
