After the Colony Wars inStarfield, there were certain measures taken to maintain peace. This included executing three elite officials who were responsible for heinous war crimes. In the aftermath, peace was achievable for a time.
As you help the UC Vanguard, you learn more and more secrets about how the organization’s squeaky-clean appearance is more of a mirage for the common folk to talk about. The truth is that politics are messy and brilliant minds are hard to come by. Before you can learn more of these secrets, you’ll have to earn the trust of the Vanguard and swear never to tell what you know.

How To Reach Subsection Seven
After receiving your UC citizenship,Deputy MacIntyre swears you to secrecybefore you’re able to begin your next mission. You’ve been asked for by name byan individual in Subsection Seven.
Enter the MAST buildingandtake the elevatordown to the high-security area. You’ll be givenclearance to enter alone.

Any followers will have to wait outside until you retrieve them.
Inside, you’llmeet with a strangerwho offers information. After learning their true identity, they will make a deal with you: you’ll get the members of Hadrian’s research team if you canfind and deal with Dr. Reginald Orlase.

Speak with Deputy MacIntyrebefore you go to get more information. While this is optional, it provides insight for the future UC Vanguard quests.
Where To Find The Den
The stranger tells you that Orlase is inthe Wolf system, but you’ll need to track him down from there. Head to The Den, a starstation in the system, andspeak with Captain Marquez.
She’ll tell you about the Warlock, which isdrifting in a debris fieldin the wreckage of the original starstation. Aftergetting the coordinates, you’ll be on your way.

Where To Find The Warlock
Head out to the coordinates given to you by Captain Marquez. You’ll findthe wreckage of The Denfrom past confrontations, and in itis the Warlock. As you get close,Orlase will threaten youand go on the offensive.
Note that there is debris and mines floating all around. Be careful how close you get, or you may take damage.
At this point, you have two options:Destroy the Warlockwith Orlase in it ordisable the enginesand board.
Destroy The Ship
To destroy the ship, keep firing until the shields are depleted. Then continue the onslaught until thehealth bar is drainedand the ship explodes.
Use the environment to your advantage. The Warlock is a dangerous ship that can easily take out unsuspecting travelers.
Once the ship is nothing but debris, move in close andsearch the wreckage for Orlase’s ID card.
Disable The Ship
To board the ship, you’ll need todisable the enginesfirst. Once they’re disabled, move in slowly to board the ship.
Orlase will not stop firing, even once the engines are disabled. If you get too close and bump the ship, it will take damage and likely explode.
Once on board, you’ll hear Orlase rant about how the UC Vanguard ruins everything right before he takes his own life. Youwon’t be able to reach himbeforehand, and you’ll have toloot his ID card off his body.
The Warlock has decent loot, including contraband and Orlase’s Lab Coat, which offers a chance to craft weapon mods without using resources.
Report Back To Vae Victis
Once you’veobtained proof of Orlase’s demise, head back to New Atlantis andspeak to Vae Victis.Deposit the ID cardin the transfer system andinteract with the intercomto talkabout the next steps in dealing with the Terrormorph threat.
For now, your quest is over, but the Vae Victis isn’t finished with you yet.
