Unlike the one near the Nautiloid crash site early in the game, you won’t come across this stash until much later: at Grymforge, in the dangerous Underdark.

How To Fight Mimics

That said, an ambitious party might choose to take on these mimics forthe experience and loot.

The mimics hit quite hard, but what makes them especially scary is their resistance toall physical damage—fromboth magical and non-magical weapons. They’re alsoimmune to acid damage.

This means thatPiercing, Bludgeoning and Slashing damageonly deals half of their usual damage.

They’ll alsosteal the weaponsof any party member they hit. Sinceequipping a weapon takes an action, this fight spells bad news formelee martial party membersaltogether.

Be sure to have somedamaging ranged spellsready among your party members before starting a fight with these mimics!

You can find the following items inside the Harper Stash:

The Scroll of Evidence offers some interesting insight into the lore of Act 2, as well as Halsin’s history with Ketheric Thorm, but admittedly, this isn’t a big haul for all the trouble that you’ll need to go through.

That said, the mimics will containa fair amount of gold, jewelry, and even two magical items. Maybe the real treasure was the gooey, teethy monstrosities we defeated along the way.
