Baldur’s Gate 3has centuries of history and lore to read, and there are two deities that keep popping up: Selûne and Shar, twin sisters whose disdain and resentment for each other is bridled in their followers.

During your exploration of the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act 2, you can pick up the “Investigate The Selûnite Resistance” quest. This quest is for those who want some context to the Shadow-Cursed Lands. It may not reward you with the greatest loot, but it will take you to major locations of the Shadow-Cursed Lands and provide your party with a great deal of XP.

How To Investigate The Selûnite Resistance

The Investigate the Selunite Resistance quest is picked up by looting thePotter’s Chestfound on the ledge in the destroyedPotter’s Workshop(X:30, Y:9)

However, getting to the Potter’s Chest is far from easy.You’ll need to clear out the pack of Meazelsthat have taken over the Potter’s Workshop.

Meazels will split up your party by teleporting your party members away from each other, and silence them using their garrote attack. Spell casters will struggle to fight them alone.

Where To Find The Potter’s Chest Key

Once you’ve dealt with the Meazels, you’ll be able to find thePotter’s Chest. You can find itskey hidden behind a loose brick by the roadside entranceof the workshop.

To find the brick, you’ll need to pass a Perception check. Even if you see a notification of a Perception check failure, you’ll know you’re in the right area.

Opening the chest will trigger theInvestigate The Selûnite Resistance quest to start. Inside the chest, you will find a note leading you to theLast Light Inn.

How To Investigate Last Light Inn

The note stashed inside the Potter’s Chest hints that there are hidden artifacts of Selûne in the Last Light Inn. You’ll need to enter theLast Light Inn Cellarto find the next piece of the puzzle.

The cellar door(X:57, Y:142)is found directly below the inn’s entrance. To get to the cellar, you can either enter the lower level of the inn from the docks or by walking down the exterior staircase east of the main entrance.

Once in the cellar, pick up theLast Light Inn Detention Cell Keyas you’ll emerge from this area after you’ve picked up the next note.

Head to the opposite side of the room to find a pile ofboxes blocking a large door.Move the boxes out of the wayand destroy the spider’s web that rests on the door.

The door will open to a small storage room; in the corner, you’ll find acracked walland aSmokepowder Barrel.

you’re able to use a fire projectile likeFire Boltto ignite the Smokepowder and destroy the wall.

Enter the newly formed tunnel to reach a cave opening. You’ll find the Selûne artifacts at the back of the cave. However, be very careful as you mustfight several Meenlocks.

Meenlocks have razor-sharp claws and emit aFear aurathat will freeze your party members in fear, making them unable to move. This makes fighting Meenlocks tricky for melee-oriented characters.

To fight the Meenlocks,we suggest using ranged attacks. Use attacks with knockback effects likeEldritch Blast’s Repelling Blast Invocation upgrade toknock the Meenlocks off the root to deal extra damageand evade the Fear aura.

With the Meenlocks killed, head to the Selûne shrine and search forHalfred’s Note, a book that can be found on top of a crate(X:40, Y:695). Halfred hints to theMason’s Guildas the next location to visit.

To exit the Last Light Inn Cellar, pick up theLast Light Side Entrance Keyand unlock the door at the southern path’s end. Thenignite the SmokepowderBarrelto blow up the cracked wall, looping you back tothe Last Light Detention Cell.

How To Investigate The Mason’s Guild

You will need to eitherretrieve the Moonlanternor obtain the Pixie Blessing to traverse through the Shadow Curse unharmed.

The Mason’s Guild is found inReithwin Town, across the river from the destroyed Potter’s Workshop. Enter the Mason’s Guild and descend through theOrnate Wooden Hatch(X:129, Y:26).

Walk past the elevator to the far west of the room and enter theTower-Shaped Keyinto theKeyhold Herald. (X:126, Y:688)You will need to pass a Perception check to reveal the Keyhold Herald.

The Tower-Shaped Keyis obtained by eitherpurchasing it from Mattisor persuading him to give it to you.

This will open the wall into a corridor leading you to the main chamber. Here, you will be swarmed byShadows and a Wraith.

These evil creatures will drift in and out of the primal plane anddrain your character’s Strength, making their attacks stronger.

AOE and multi-strike spells likeFireballandScorching Rayare great in the initial fight since the Shadows will be bunched together.

Once you defeat the Mason’s Guild Shadows,read the Mason’s Logfound on the long table(X:107, Y:746). The Mason’s Log reveals more information about the fight between the Selunite resistance and the Sharrans.

That completes the Investigate The Selunite Resistance quest. However, before you leave the Mason’s Guild,navigate to the second level of the chamber andpress the button on the wall (X: 121, Y:739)to reveal a secret chamber filled with treasure.

You will also be able to marka hidden area in Moonrise Toweron your map bypicking up the map sitting on the table next to the button.
