There are many colorful characters inBaldur’s Gate 3and plenty of refugees to go around. In Act Three, the refugees who have survived thus far are about to make it to the city of Baldur’s Gate, but there’s a bit of a snag. While it’s being sorted, some refugees take shelter in Arfur Gregorio’s home. He’s not happy about it, and he’s going to make it your problem.

Within this quest, you have the opportunity to align yourself with the refugees once more. Some of them are familiar faces, while others are new, and if they’ve made a lasting impression on you, you won’t want your efforts to be in vain. Collecting donations for the refugees sounds like a wholesome idea, but nefarious plans are put into action.

How To Start Investigate The Suspicious Toys

When youfirst arrive in Rivington, head south to Arfur’s Mansion. It’s directlyat the foot of the pathyou take from the Shadow-Cursed lands. You’ll recognize him by his brightly-colored clothes and loud personality. He’sshouting at the refugeeswho are squatting in his home.

The homeowner has hired help to throw the refugees out of his home (though that’s not what they were originally paid for). You can tell Arfur you’llhelp him evict the interlopers,or you cantake the refugees' side.

If you throw out the refugees,Arfur will take up residencein his home, complicating the next part of the quest. If you convince Arfur to go elsewhere, he begrudgingly goes, butsomething makes him uneasy.

You can undercut the Guild byoffering your services to Arfur at half-price or for free. Note that this makes the hired thugs unhappy, but you can convince them to leave, which will pressure Arfur to give in to your demands.

You caninvestigate the houseregardless of your decision, but the main goal is tohead straight back into the workshoparea.

How To Get Into Arfur’s Basement

Arfur won’t be happy to have you snooping around, hence whythis is easier if he’s gonebecause therefugees won’t care if you loothis home. In the workshop, you’llnotice a hatchthat’s locked. Using your stealthiest character,pick the lockon the hatch and slip into Arfur’s basement.

The place isloaded with fireworks trapsat every turn. You’ll need todisarm the trapsandreach the other endof the room.

Look around, andyou’ll find a noteabout adonation of teddy bears. This prompts you tofind and investigate the teddy bears, where it seems thatthe toys are riggedto go off when the refugees grab them.

How To Find The Suspicious Toys

Head tothe Requisitioned Barnon the edge of town, where the donations are being kept. you’re able to either talk your way in or sneak your way in.Talk to Manip Nestorand persuade him to let you look around in the barn.

You canuseSpeak with Animalsto talk to the pig in the barn. You can ask if he’s seen anything strange lately, and he’ll tell you something smells funny in the next room.

If you prefer stealth,head up the cliffalong the side of the barn. You canjump onto the roofand enter from there. You might suffer fall damage, but it willprevent you from being caughtbreaking into the barn.

No matter how you enter the barn, thetoys are in a crate at X:83, Y:-108at the northeast end. You’ll have todisarm the trapsbefore you touch the toys,or they’ll explode.

Whether youdetonate or disarm the traps, the noise will alert Manip Nestor,who will come running in, ready to arrest you. You cansubmit to arrest or explain what happened.

When you explain what happened, Manip Nestor needs extra convincing. You canpersuade him however you like, prompting him to double-check the other donations just in case. In the meantime, he tasks you withconfronting the man responsiblefor this. You justhave to find him.

Where To Find Arfur Gregorio In Baldur’s Gate

Head into the city of Baldur’s Gate tofind Arfur at the tavern,Sharess' Caress. He’s in the showroom to the leftwhere the drow are. Speak to him to catch him off guard. He’llbribe you to leavehim alone, but you canpress for more information.

You cantake the bribe, butyou won’t find out who put Arfur up to it, and you’ll have to figure it out on your own.

If you push him hard enough, he’ll reveal thatit all starts with the fireworks shop. They provide thepackets of smoke powder, and that’s all he knows. He’ll eventell you the passwordto get in. You can alsorequest all of his goldbefore parting ways, which he’ll happily do before he flees for his life.

Alternatively, you may threaten to have him arrested or killed. You can alsoconvince or intimidate himinto turning himself in, where he’ll tell you his fate is on your conscience. Otherwise, Arfur will simply flee and promiseyou’ll never see himagain.

Investigate The Fireworks Shop

Head intothe Lower Cityto find the Felogyr’s Fireworks. You canuse the passwordArfur gave you to accessthe second floor. You’ll discover that the fireworks shop isrun by Banite cultistsassembling the explosiveson the top floor(the one with restricted access).

You canexplore the shop and break into the basementfor additional information about its business endeavors with Gortash, butit won’t advance the quest. You’ll need to make your way to the top floor.

Talk with Avery about Gortash. you’re able to geta free sample from the fireworks, a smokepowder arrow, which you can use in the coming battle to take down the operation, or you can save it to use later.

Once you reach the top floor, it’s safe to say thateveryone in the building knowswhat’s up and will stop you with force if you interrupt. That leaves you withone option to resolve the quest.

Tostop the operation, you’ll have tokill everyone inside the building. Luckily, there’s an easy way to do this since you’re in a fireworks shop. Carefully position your characters away from the blast anduse fire arrowsto attack the barrels of powder.

Fire-based spells and cantrips likeFireballandFire Boltwill work as well. This willtake out most of the enemieson the upper floors, leaving you to deal with what’s left.

The Flaming Fist soldiersandSteel Watcheroutside the shopwill also become hostileduring the battle. Be prepared to take them down quickly, or your party members are in for a difficult battle.

Once the enemies are dealt with, the quest concludes. Therefugees are safe,and the exploding toys are no longer in production.
