What Is The Incompatible Version Error?
Essentially, if you’re getting this issue, it’s becauseyou saved the game after Hotfix 4 went live— this is the patch that Larian implemented yesterday but then rolled back as it was causing issues that caused the game to crash for players.
Unfortunately, that means your save file has become incompatible with the version that’s now currently live.
How To Fix The Incompatible Version Error
There are only two ways to fix it at the moment:
When Is Hotfix 4 Going Live?
Larian aims to launch the new Hotfix 4by the end of the day today (European time) — on August 17— so it shouldn’t be too long of a wait, providing that everything goes smoothly.
The last update from Larian was a couple of hours ago that stated they have a fix in place that is currently undergoing rigorous testing.
