Atlas Fallen’s gameplay involves more than the sum of its parts - quite truly, in fact. From plants and minerals to formulae and artifacts, the game’s world may be entombed in righteous sands, but fragments of culture can be reassembled to suit your hero’s needs.

In other words, the fusion system is the center of Atlas Fallen’s customization suite. You’ll tap into it frequently amid your quest to grow powerful enough to quell the rage of Thelos, and we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get started.

Searching For Stones

Many Essence Stones make the fusion process complete cake - becauseyou find these stones fully crafted, meaning no fusion process happens at all. ‘Lost Temper’ is the earliest example.

While a fair few of these slot neatly into the field of self-discovery, someseeminglymust belooted from foes. The elite wraith Gashur, for instance, has ‘Sinful Bargain’.

Some completed Essence Stones must bepurchased from the traveling vendor. Bear in mind, however, that the vendor’s wares tend to differ depending on the region he’s in, and possibly even where he is within that region.

There are well north of 25 Essence Stones in Atlas Fallen, but you’ll only need 25 in order to qualify for an achievement/trophy.

Finding Formulae

In addition to finding full Essence Stones, you’ll also discover plenty ofFormulae, all with Roman numerals designations. These scrolls are at the heart of why we’ve made this guide;you must follow the scrolls in combining various materials, thus ‘fusing’ Essence Cores.

Formula I- that is, ‘Formula One’ - is an early example. The Essence Stones you’re able to create through this scroll include’Ruthless Slayer' and ‘Ruthless Generation’, two highly offense-oriented stones that are great for lesser wraiths, and even beter for big onesifyou’re strong enough and/or confident enough in your skills to risk the higher damage intake.

Note that, with Formula I, you need a Nook Shroom and a Silvery Ore for ‘Ruthless Generation’. Conversely, via the same scroll, ‘Ruthless Slayer’ requires Fiery Leaves and a Silvery Ore.

Scoring Some Cores

There’s one more thing those two Essence Stone recipe examples require, andit’s required foreveryfusion process - Essence Cores. Think of these as the chassis for the car you’re building, whereas the materials amount to an engine, an exhaust pipe, and all that other good stuff. Without the chassis, nothing comes together; the Essence Stone, thus, is what holds it all in place. It’s like an Essence Stone’s shell.

The good news is that you should seldom be without Essence Cores. Of all the things you need to locate in this game, Essence Cores are among the simplest. You will win them as rewards in battle againstthe toughest enemies, you’ll find a handful intreasure chests, and eventually you can purchase them outright.

Bear in mind, the purchase price is pretty steep. In our playthrough, however, we rarely had any issue with tribute, Atlas Fallen’s currency - though we’ve heard otherwise from some players, so if money’s tight, just know these are worth the bduget!
