One of the more interesting aspects ofStarfieldis the ability to harvest resources from various planets. These resources are quite useful since they are part of weapon and armor upgrades as well as multiple crafting recipes. While you can often buy them from vendors, it can quickly become an expensive endeavor.

Rather than constantly throwing your hard-earned credits at vendors, you can set yourself up for long-term success by establishing your very own Greenhouse. This will continually harvest resources for you, allowing you to craft more freely and on a better budget. You can even transfer the resources to your ship.
How To Build A Greenhouse
Tobuild a Greenhouse, you’ll need toestablish an Outpostfirst. You’ll want to find a planet with resources you need (or flora you like). You’ll also need tohave the Botany skillandresearch Horticulture level oneat a research station.
The planet will needa few types of flora, and you’ll know you can build an outpost if the flora is tagged with"Outpost Production Allowed"on the scanner.

If you’ve met all the requirements and can’t find the Greenhouse in the build menu, you might be on a planet that doesn’t support outpost production for flora. In this case, it’s best to find a different planet.
To construct the Greenhouse, you’ll need the following materials:
Once you’ve gathered everything together, head to your outpost, access the build menu, andplace your Greenhouse. You canfind it in the “Builders” tabof the Outpost Building menu.
How To Set Up A Greenhouse
After constructing your Greenhouse, you’ll need toprovide it with power and water. The Greenhouserequires three powerto operate, so you’ll want to build either aSolar Panel or Wind Turbineto power the Greenhouse.
You’ll also want aSolid Storage containerto gather your resources, and you’llneed an Extractorfor Water. With these components set up, your Greenhouse is nearly ready to go. All you have to do isfully scan florain the area. To do this, access your scanner, select the specific florayou wish to collect, and then press the A button on your controller or the E key on your PC.

Make sure to create output links from these components to the Greenhouse so that it can fully function.
How To Cultivate Flora
To cultivate flora, you’ll need tofully scan it on its native planet. From there, you canaccess it in the Greenhouseto seehow much water it needsto thrive.
If extractors for water are not able to be placed on the planet of choice, a Liquid Storage container will do. You’ll have to manually fill it with water, however.

Once it’s fully researched, you canaccess the consoleby the Greenhouse toselect the Organic Resourceyou want to create, which will fill the Greenhouse with the corresponding flora.
You can upgrade your Greenhouses by researching Horticulture at a Research Station. This will help you produce more Organic resources over time.
With that, you’re all set tostart cultivating flora across the galaxy. Keep in mind you canonly have eight Outpostsat a time, so verify of them toharvest all the resourcesyou need.
Don’t forget – you cancraft a Transfer Containerto easilyload resources onto your shipas cargo.
