Baldur’s Gate 3boasts an impressive array of equipment, the range of which offers unparalleled variety and depth. With hundreds of weapons, armor, and accessories at your disposal, there is immense potential for crafting effective—and sometimes, very inventive—builds to augment your playthrough.

Amidst this vast collection, however, the crème de la crème are the legendary items. Only eighteen legendaries exist as of this writing, each with the potential to supercharge your character’s build. However, such power doesn’t come easy. This guide will walk you through the sometimes-labyrinthine paths leading to each of these game-changing pieces of gear.

How To Get Every Legendary Item In Act 1

Blood of Lathander

This legendary mace can be foundat the end of the Mountain Passarc of Act One, within theRosymnorn Monastery,and is one of theearliest legendary itemsyou can reliably obtain in the game.

To get your hands on this weapon, you’ll need tocomplete a few puzzlesandrisk being blown upby a mega-laser. If being deep-fried by the concentrated power of the sun isn’t on your bucket list, you can follow our guide onobtaining The Blood of Lathanderto safely get it.

This isabsolutely phenomenal for Act Twodue to theabundance of undead and fiends. We’d definitely recommend picking it up on your way into the Shadow-Cursed lands.

Shapeshifter’s Mask

This helmet is unique among the legendaries on this list: it can only be obtained if youpurchase the Digital Deluxe editionof the game.

After doing so, you’ll be able to find this maskin your Stash at any campsite.

The Shapeshifter’s Mask can be used to castDisguise Self,a first-level spell, on yourselfat will—with no cooldown and for no resources. Though significantly less flashy than the other legendary items, disguises can come in handy in several situations.

You can transform yourself as a small race toget into small places, or into another race to geta specific response out of an NPC.

Besides, it’s free to get if you have this version of the game, andavailable as soon as you finish the tutorial!

Silver Sword of the Astral Plane

This greatsword can be found withKith’rak Voss, one of the Githyanki commanders whom you can meet as early as Act One, to thewest of Waukeen’s Rest(X:-79, Y:572).

As per the storyline, youwon’t be able to fight him, orobtain this weaponuntil Act Three—he’ll fly away after a short cutscene.

However, as per the spirit of this game, there is an “exploit” you may utilize to obtain this sword the first time you meet him. Sneaking up on himwhile invisibleand castingCommand: Drop, the first-level enchantment spell, has a chance of seeing himdrop his weapon on the ground.

That said, as a Githyanki, Voss isresilient to magical compulsionand this has avery low chance of workingat low levels. Without reloading, you’ll only have one shot at successfully doing it.

If you miss this chance, you’ll be able to grab this weapon in Act Three, by acceptingRaphael’s deal in Sharess' Caress, and then speaking to Voss downstairs.

Unfortunately, this sword’s effects largelyonly work when wielded by a Githyanki. If you’re playing a Githyanki frontliner, or if Lae’zel is a permanent fixture of your party, however, this is one of thebest swords in the entire gamefor them.

How To Get Every Legendary Item In Act 2

Devotee’s Mace

This mace isn’t actually found at a set location, but you could get itas early as Act Twoif you completeall the encountersin the game and nab all the experience you can.

The Devotee’s Mace is a legendary mace that you can obtain bycasting Divine Intervention, a feature usable only bylevel ten Clerics.

Divine Intervention hasseveral other uses, but canonly be cast oncethroughout the game, so make sure you’ve read them all before making the decision to get the Devotee’s Mace!

You canbypass the one-use limitof Divine Intervention byusing hirelingsfrom Withers.

Selune’s Spear of Night

You can obtain this spear byconvincing Shadowheartto spare the Nightsongat theend of Shar’s Gauntletin Act Two.

You won’t receive this item immediately, however—you’ll need todefeat Ketheric Thormonce and for all, andrescue the Nightsong(again!) from his clutches after traversing the Mindflayer Colony.

After completing Act Two in this way, Nightsong willmeet you at your campand give you this spear.

Of course, you’ll need to make sure thatShadowheart is in your partybefore entering Nightsong’s Prison in order to obtain both this weapon, as well as Shar’s Spear of Evening.

Shar’s Spear of Evening

On the other hand, you’re able to obtain this spear byencouraging Shadowhearttokill the Nightsongat the end of Shar’s Gauntlet in Act Two.

There’s no wait time for this one: as soon as Shadowheart does the deed, you willreceive this spear as a rewardfrom the goddess Shar.

How To Get Every Legendary Item In Act 3

Balduran’s Giantslayer

To get this greatsword, you’ll need totravel through the Wyrmway, a dungeon wrought with puzzles, and face off a formidable boss fight at the end.

Bloodthirst

Duelist’s Prerogative

Gontr Mael

This legendary longbow can be found in theSteel Watch Foundry, in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate.

Orphic Hammer

These gloves can also be obtained from theHouse of Hope.

Free Hopewith theOrphic Hammer, thendefeat Raphael—a feat easier said than done, as he’s considered one of the toughest fights of the game.

Helldusk Armor

One of the best pieces of armor in the game, this legendary item can also befound in theHouse of Hope.

It bypasses the wearer’sarmor proficiencyrequirementswhile offering aton of ACand excellent effects.

Viconia’s Walking Fortress

This shield can be found onViconia DeVir, deep within theHouse of Grief in the Lower Cityof Baldur’s Gate.
