Setting up an outpost might be an easy task inStarfield, but maintaining it gets significantly harder, especially if you’re using various items that require power. One of the main reasons to have outposts is that they can make the process of getting resources much faster through the Extraction process.

While you’re placing these Extractors, you’ll see that they require a certain amount of power to function. One of the best ways to get power in your outpost is through a Fueled Generator, and here’s everything you need to start one up without too much hassle.

How To Make A Fueled Generator

If you want to make a Fueled Generator, the first thing you’ll need to do is set up an outpost on any planet. It’s highly recommended toget the outpost near one of the Helium-3 veins as it’ll make the process much easier. Once the outpost is built, head over to the Power section in the Build Menu.

You’ll be able to place the generator here usingone Isocentered Magnet, four Tungsten, one Austenitic Manifold, and one Tau Grade Rheostat. You’ll also see that its Operating Cost is one Helium-3, which is why it’s better to place it beside the resource’s vein. You can only place the generator within the range of an outpost marked by a yellow circle.

How To Start A Fueled Generator

It might be easy to set up a Fueled Generator as long as you have the resources, but starting it is much harder. The game mentions that the generator needs Helium-3 to power the Generator, but you may’t place it directly into it. There are a couple of ways to go about this:

If you follow the second process, you may also power aHelium-3 Extractor with the generator and then connect it to the storage.

This will create a cycle ofconstant Helium-3 creation for the Generatorwhile you use the rest of its power elsewhere.

Once the generator is powered up, you can Wire it to the structures you want it to power bygetting close to the Generator and opening the Quick Menu. Keep in mind that Output Link and Wire are two different things, and you can differentiate them by looking at the red line produced by them.

The red line from Output Link has a striped design while the Wire is plain red.
