In hack and slash RPGs likeSilent Hope, a new isometric Rune Factory spinoff title from Marvelous, you’ll be ready for new and improved gear before you get too far into the Abyss. Each of the seven heroes uses their own kind of items, and all of them have several upgrades to unlock in the Abyss.
By crafting the items in your Mementos and using booster parts from desynthesized gear, you’ll be able to upgrade your weapons in Silent Hope with ease. On the defensive side, rings and earrings can also be upgraded at the Forge to optimize their abilities.
How To Craft Weapons And Accessories
Find Mementos In The Abyss To Unlock New Items
It won’t be long into your first expedition in Silent Hope that you begin findingMementos in the Abyssas youdefeat monsters and open chestsscattered around each level.
In the overworld of the Abyss, these look likeblack circles with several different icons, which will beglowing in one of five colorsto denote their rarity.
These Mementos are your ticket tocreating new weapons and accessoriesfor your heroes to use in their adventure. Naturally, more difficult layers of the Abyss will yield more powerful Mementos.
Equipment Has Four Rarities, Each With More Perks
As we mentioned, the Mementos you find in Silent Hope will appear to be glowing inone of five colors. These offer a glimpse atthe item’s rarity.

These perks can be for absolutely anything -skill boosts, stat improvements, elemental resistances, and more. Additionally,just because equipment has more perks doesn’t make it better.
Check the perks before you make an itemto be sure they’re perks you actually want to use. One perk that increases something you’ll actually use (like a stat or a specific skill) is better than two that you won’t.
The Princess Can Appraise Mysterious Mementos
Occasionally throughout the Abyss, typicallyafter boss battles or in rare treasure chests, you’ll come across Mementos thatglow purpleand don’t have a specific name, presented instead as aseries of question marks.
These Mementoscost more to analyze the higher their rank, meaning the purple Mementos in Silent Hope can cost quite a bit at toward the end of the game.
However, these Mementos willalmost always be of legendary rarityand offer significant stat boosts, so it’s worth it to have them assessed if you need to upgrade your gear in Silent Hope!
Equip Magistones To Add Perks Or Change Elements
Similar to the Mementos that give you new weapons in Silent Hope, you’ll also findMagistonesin a similar way, bydefeating enemies and opening chests.
These stones can beinstalled into certain pieces of gearto imbue it with additional powers, elemental damage, or stat boosts for your hero. Magistones areelementalin nature and will typically be found in the layer with a similar element.
Not all gear can hold a Magistone, and you’ll be able to tell if a weapon or accessory is able to if you see ablank Magistone slot when making the item at the Forge.
You’ll always be able to see apreview of your itembefore crafting it, and Magistones are possible for gear of any rarity.
How To Upgrade Existing Gear
As you begin to make new weapons and accessories for your heroes to use during expeditions into the Abyss in Silent Hope, you’ll quickly amassitems you’re no longer using activelyin battle. Instead of letting them sit in storage, these can bedesynthesizedwhen you’re finished using them.
This can be done with anything fromweaponsthat served you well but have been eclipsed by stronger gear, orrings and earringsof the same. If you’ve collectedextra Mementosthat you don’t intend to make into gear, you’re able to desynth these as well.
Byvisiting your storehouse at the chest at Base Camp, you’re able to rifle through your gear (separated into categories and sorted in any number of ways) anddesynth old gear into booster parts.
Every item you desynthesize is converted intoa set number of booster parts, which you can then take over to the Forge and use to increase the power of your current gear.
Head over tothe Forgeat Base Camp and choose toUpgradeyour gear. Each upgrade the Warrior can perform for you willcost both booster parts and runes, so be sure to bring plenty of each.
Upgrades can be made toweapons, rings, and earringsto increase their base power. Be sure to purchase these upgrades between changing gear to something new to ensure you’re outputting the maximum amount of power!
