Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscureis the fourth expansion to the game. This time, the Commander will investigate the disappearance of the Wizard’s Tower in Kessex Hills, taking them to a realm where Fractals have been stabilized to test the outcomes of different realities.

In the first map of Secrets of the Obscure, the Skywatch Archipelago, there are a total of 11 Mastery Insights to find. With the emphasis on aerial traversal in this map, a Skyscale mount is recommended for most of these Insights. If you don’t have one, you can temporarily rent one from the Skyscale Trainer near the Beacon of Ages. Below, we’ll take a look at where to find every Mastery Insight in Skywatch Archipelago.
Above The Jungle Insight
From theObservation Camp Waypoint, head to thewest through the Primal Maguumajungle. Head across the bridge and to thesouth, where you’ll eventually find a series ofstaircases to the upper levelof the area.
Climb up these stairs towards thewestand theTemple of Glint Point of Interest. Here, use aSpringerorScyscaleto jump up to where theVistais, then continue a bit further to thetop of the cliff. Then, turn to thesouthandclimb through the branchesof the tree toward the Mastery Insight.
Beacon Of Ages Insight
From theBeacon of Ages Waypoint, get on yourSkyscaleandclimb up the side of the towerusing theWall Spring/Wall Launch. Aim for theStatic Charge motesfloating in the area to replenish your mount’s stamina and keep ascending. At the top of the tower, you’ll find the Mastery Insight.
It’s also possible, although much more difficult, to reach this Insight using theSpringermount with theHigh Vault MasteryandBond of Faith.
Droknar’s Mines Insight
At the Droknar’s Light Waypoint, head to thenortheast along the path, thenjump off the side of the island. By carefullyglidingor using aSkyscale, you canfly around the back of the minesto this Mastery Insight.
MinSec Server Room Insight
Starting from theKestrel’s Vow Waypoint, headwest into the city. Continuealong the jade pathuntil you come to astaircase on your right. Take this staircase, then take asecond staircaseto the top of the area.Follow this path northto the MinSec Server Room. Go through this room to theopening at the back, where you’re able to find the Mastery Insight.
Rata Novus Foundations Insight
Starting from theRata Novus Promenade Waypoint, head to thewest outside of the building. Take aright to the cliff, then carefullydescend down the floating cubesuntil you reach this Mastery Insight.
Rata Novus Outcrop Insight
To get this Mastery Insight, you’ll need aSkyscale, theUpdraft GeneratorMastery, and theEnhanced UpdraftsMastery.
Starting from theRata Novus Promenade Waypoint, headwest out of the city. At the end of the bridge just outside the city, take aleft towards some floating rocks. Here, use your glider or Skyscale toascend the Updraftsto the land above Rata Novus.
Here,continue northwestuntil you seeanother Updraft to the north. Take this one, thentwo more Updrafts using your Skyscaleuntil you areabove the clouds. Then, look ahead andactivate the Updraft Generatorto make another Updraft, andcontinue forward to the floating island. You may need to useBond of Vigorhere to gain enough stamina to make it.
At this floating island, continue a short distance ahead, using your Skyscale toascend the rocky cliffto where the Mastery Insight is waiting.
Skyscale Sanctuary Insight
From theBeacon of the Ages Waypoint, simplyfly northwest on a Skyscaleto easily reach this Mastery Insight.
Alternatively, if you have theLeyline Gliding Mastery, you can ride the Leyline to theright of the Flight TrainingNPCs, thenglide the rest of the way to the tower. From the roof of the tower, use yourSpringerto jump up to the Mastery Insight.
Southern Clearing Insight
Head to theDroknar’s Light Waypoint, then headsouth out of the keep. Continuesouth until you reach the cliffat the end of the snowy area, andglide down to the Shattered Atoll. You can reach the Mastery Insight bygliding to the top of the ruinswhere it is located.
The Fractured Tower Insight
Head to theGarnhoff Refugee Camp Waypoint, then make your waywest. Take the path to the right toclimb up the broken rocksand into thedestroyed village. Continue through the village until you reach thebase of the Fractured Tower.
From here, you can eitherclimb up the side of the towerusing theSkyscale’s Wall Launchability, or use aSpringerto carefully climb up the broken fragments of the tower.
Under The Dunes Insight
Teleport to theKestrel’s Vow Waypoint, then look to the south. Here,jump down to the rock below, using yourgliderto safely land. From this rock, move a bitfurther southuntil you see the Mastery Insight. Now, simplyglide over to itto reach it.
War God’s Spire Insight
Starting at theAstral Ward Encampment Waypoint, headwestthrough the desert until you reach theBurning Fortress Point of Interestin the Forged camp. Here, use aSkyscaletoclimb up the left side of the fortress, then use theWall Spring/Wall LaunchMastery toascend the sword. At the top of the sword,fly over a short distanceto the Mastery Insight.
Alternatively, from theKestrel’s Vow Waypoint, take thefirst zipline to the leftall the way to thetop of the terminal building. From here, takeanother zipline to the building to the west. Then,jump down to the cliff below, andglidedown toward the Mastery Insight.
