Before you can even reach the trials, you’ll need to prove yourself by solving the Statue Puzzle to gain access to the rest of the Gauntlet. Shar’s followers linger in the shadows, and these trials will urge you to do the same. Many require darkness to be your ally, and the statue puzzle is no exception. Here’s how to reach the statue and progress through the Gauntlet, whether you set out to find it or stumbled across it in your adventures.

How To Find The Gauntlet Of Shar

You’ll find the Gauntlet of Shar if youventure west of the shadow grove after starting Act Two. After entering the imposing structure in theupper west corner of the graveyard, you’ll move through theThorm Mausoleum puzzleto reach the elevator to the Gauntlet.

You’ll know you’ve reached the puzzle when you enter a room illuminated in eerie purple light witha statue of Shar in the center. As you approach, you’ll beknocked back by a force field. This prevents you from running up to the Umbral Gem to progress.

Instead, you’ll have tofind another wayto reach the crystal and needdarkness to help illuminatethe path.

How To Solve The Statue Puzzle

There are four corners of the room, andeach corner has a levertolower the lanternshanging around the room. You’ll need todim all the lightsto fully reveal the path through the force field.

There areplenty of trapsaround the room that create a harmful darkness, so tread carefully. It’s best tosend your stealthiest characteralone to disarm the traps, activate the levers, and solve the puzzle.

Once the lanterns are lowered, you can dim each one toplunge the room into darkness. Markings will light up on the floor, revealinga gap in the shieldwhere you can enter and grab the Umbral Gem.

Sometimes, activating the traps orusing one leverwill make the room darkenough to navigate,saving you from using all four levers and diming all eight lights. If you’ve got good eyes, you can make your way through the puzzle quickly without needing to run around the whole room.

How To Reach The Umbral Gem

Once the room is completely dark, you’ll be entered into turn-based mode. Enter from thegap to the eastand make your way around to the Umbral Gem. When youinteract with it,the lights will come back, anda door will opento the west. Proceed onward with the Gauntlet of Shar.
