While on the weaker side, the Penitent One attacks incredibly quickly with them and gains a powerful riposte skill. They are the trickiest weapons to use, but are exceptionally powerful in skilled hands. While they’re not very accessible as starting weapons, you’ll have to pick them up atsomepoint - here’s where you’ll find them.

Where To Find The Rapiers

The first thing you’ll need to do, before anything else, is reach theCity of the Blessed Nameand then obtain theIvy of AscensionfromProfundo Lamento, the small dungeon underneath the city. This will allow you toascend certain walls, unlocking the way forward.

Return to the Blessed City, and you’ll be able toclimb up the wall to the right of the chasm that leads to Profundo Lamento. Climb this wall and start heading to the right until you reach a new area:Grilles and Ruin.

Your destination is even further to the right, so press on, takingevery path to the rightthat you can until you come to a large wooden door. This is the entrance to thePalace of the Embroideries, but it’s shut.

Follow the directions below to reach the rapiers in the shortest amount of time, or consult the video below to see how it’s done.

To get out of this area, you’ll need to use the rapiers’ special ability. When youstrike a floating statue holding a mirrorthat you’ll have seen just previously and likely in many other parts of the map, you will warp forward.

This is used often throughout the game to launch you into the air or through walls in the middle of platforming puzzles.
