Lies of P’s journey from the Cathedral takes us out on a dark and foggy night on the Path of the Pilgrim, crawling with horrors unseen and unheard in the night. To make matters worse, our friends, the Black Rabbit Brotherhood, appear on the move again after Elysium Boulevard.
With only Gemini to light the way and far more enemies than friends on our current path, we’ll need every ally we can find. Thankfully, this guide is here as one more friend for your adventure. Let’s see about shedding a little light for the road ahead.
Path Of The Pilgrim: How To Open The First Shortcut
From theArchbishop’s Altar Stargazerat St. Frangelico Cathedral, venture through thedoor under the portraitof the Archbishop to get started on this new path.
You can reach the Stargazer of the Path of the Pilgrim simply by following the main path. Thankfully, you’ll only discover a few normal carcass enemies on the way.
There is an old stargazer on the left side of the path, but you cannot activate this one yet. The real stargazer is later on the right side of the path and across from a wooden building.
When you reach the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer,go down the hillto the right of the wooden shack.
This path will befilled with ambushes and enemy traps, so you’ll want to keep your eye on every breakable box and upper ledge.
Your first ambush is just down the hill with a new type of enemy, adog carcass,which willburst through the boxesnear a normal carcass. AHidden Moonstonecan be found behind this location.
At the first potential split in the path,go rightdown an unlit path. Be careful to avoid thebear traps on the groundand thecarcass that will jump onto the roadin front of you as you near a chest at the end.
The chest contains theAcidic Crystal Spear,a potent Advance-based weapon (A).
Turn aroundand follow the path straight ahead to find aDim Ergo Fragmentnear a burning barrel. Acarcass will jump down from the cliffside to your right.
Across the path behind you, there is aSaw Bladeon the ground beneath a tree. Acarcass will drop from this treeas you stand under it.
Down the hill, you should notice a large enemy crawling toward you. This is abear carcass, and it prefers to attack usinglarge swipes and charges.
With its far reach, you’ll want tostay close and avoid backpedalingwith your dodges.
Use Fire attacksto get the better of it and help tackle its massive health pool.
For its defeat,you’ll receive:
Go down the hill to theright of the bridgefor now. You’ll find aFire Canisterguarded by a dog carcass here.
Watch out for thebear traps on the ground under the bridgeand pick up theChainon the other side beside a carcass.
Going up the hill, there aretwo more bear traps, aVivid Ergo Fragment,and another dog carcass.
Across the land bridge, go down the hill while following the lit barrels until you see alake on the right side(your lantern will start glowing).
ADimensional Butterflycan be found in this lake, but halfway through its health,two carcasses will ambush you,and the butterfly will disappear.
After the carcasses are defeated, you canrediscover the Dimensional Butterfly on the right sideof the lake near theLegion Magazine,sitting on the ground. Defeat the butterfly to receive aDark moon Moonstone of the Covenant.
You can find a Hidden Moonstone on the left side of the lake. Once again, acarcass will jump from the ledgebeside it.
After gathering all materials at the lake,go down the hillto the Tomb Slums Entrance.
There areseveral enemies at the front gate. Most of them are standard carcasses, butone is far strongerthan the others.
We recommend stepping in only to backpedal andbait the enemies out of towninto the open field for the best visibility and movement.
Flamberge with the wave upgrade is best for this scenario. It will allow you to kill all carcasses at once except the strongest one while laying on the Burning effect.
After the entrance enemies are all defeated, you can grabtwo items in the area:
Go through the small fortto the leftto face a series ofwooden roofs.A carcass will be guarding the bridge linking these roofs.
On the second roof, acarcass will jump down on the left side. The"Wanted: Black Rabbit Brotherhood" postercan be found on a beam on the right side.
Go across a bridge on the rightto find a carcass holding its head beside a flaming barrel. As you near it, asecond carcass will climb over the edgeof the bridge ahead.
Cross the next bridgeto eventually face two carcasses and find ahole to drop into.There are no enemies down there, so feel free to fall.
AFire Abrasivecan be found in this room, but more importantly, there is adoor you can openon the far wall to the bottom of this area. Itleads to an elevator to the left.
Take the elevatorup. This will lead to the shack outside the Path of the Pilgrim, where you can find the “Scribbles of a Slum Resident” and adoor to the Stargazer.
Congratulations: you’ve opened your first shortcut!
How To Descend The Tower To The Malum District
Take the elevator to the ground floor, follow the path outside under the bridge, and go to a boarded-upwooden door. As you near, a largeminiboss will burst through.
This miniboss (we’ll call it the “sawblade carcass”) ishighly aggressive and agilefor its size. It hasimmense reach and the ability to jump over large distancesto strike with its large weapon.
Like many carcasses, you’ll want toprioritize using fire damagehere. But the main tip for this fight is touse the hill ledge to your advantage.
When you need space to heal or change items on your belt, you canuse the ledge to confuse the minibossby either climbing onto it while it’s below or dropping off the ledge as the miniboss climbs.
Fable arts are also highly recommended for use here. The miniboss, despite his side, is very susceptible to being staggered.
When this miniboss is defeated, you’ll be given theSlum Shack Key. It opens thedoor to the building across the arena from the broken gate.
Inside is one carcass and a chest containing theBelford Superior Corrosion Resistance Converter.
Going through the broken gate, follow the lamps. There arethree enemies that are hidingbothwithin the grass and above on the cliffside in this area.
After defeating them, you’ll discover the Hobbler’s Bridge.Carcasses are hidingon top of the bridge towers and on the ledges of the bridge itself.
Walk across the bridge slowlyto defeat them all and then come to a stop when you finda wagon and a broken sectionof the bridge on the right.Drop onto the ledge below.
Take theVivid Ergo Fragmentand theSaw Blade under the bridgeand across a smaller, wooden bridge beneath it.Climb the ladderback up to return to the edge of the bridge.
Ahead is a wall with a beasttrapped behind a sturdy iron gate. When you get close, the gate will open to free the beast.
Don’t let this carcass beast scare you too much. Thankfully, italmost always uses the same attack.
Keep your distancefrom this enemy, andwhen it charges at you, dodge to the left or rightas it passes.
If it helps, imagine this fight like the exchange between a bull and a bull tamer in an arena.When the bull carcass charges past you, attack it a few times and immediately back off again.After repeating this a few times, you’ll put an end to this creature.
Through the gate,enter the campsitein the area ahead. On the right side, there is a “Sweeper Branch Office Newspaper Report.”
Headup the stairsas you overhear a Black Rabbit making an announcement. You’ll find atower at the topand aLegion Magazinebehind a few boxes on the right side of the entrance.
Inside the tower, you’ll have to face atight platforming section. Your goal is to reach the bottom by walking out onto thin beams and falling onto the appropriate ledge below.
Before you begin,go up the ladder on the leftand across a wooden beam for a Special Resistance Ampoule.
For this section,go slowly and do not panicas you fall.Do not attempt to steer P while falling.
There is aDim Ergo Fragmenton one of the ledges on the way down, but otherwise, focus solely on dropping onto beams. There is no way to softlock yourself here, so trust in your falling andtake your time.
At the bottom, the Malum District Stargazer is just ahead up the stairs.
