Paleo Pinesstarts you off as many farming and life sims do. You’re presented with a rundown farm covered in debris and given only the basics to work with. Eventually, though, you work your way up to better tools - in this case, dinosaurs - and start to expand your world. Little by little, you get to explore more of the land in front of you.

One area in the game, the Dapplewood, is blocked off to begin with. This presents a big problem for many characters, especially those who actuallylivethere! And it’s all down to you to clear the way forward.
How To Clear The Path To Dapplewood
The path to the Dapplewood is conveniently located just to the north of Pebble Plaza. Open your map to check your location at any time - you’ll see the Dapplewood as long as you’re currently in Veridian Valley. The wood is marked by a path that heads west into a dark forest.
When you go here for the first time, you’ll be confronted with alarge boulder. You’ll need to tame a dinosaur that can break this boulder open.

For this reason, you’ll need to wait until you’ve obtained the flute and undergone the taming tutorial before you’re able to complete this quest!
There are multiple dinosaurs who live in Veridian Valley who have theSmasherskill, which you need, though only two of them are available to you from the very beginning of the game:

Speak to Pippin and get them to make you aJuicy Poppin. With a Juicy Poppin, you’ll be able totame a Styracosaurus of your own.
Before you’re able to use your new Styracosaurus friend to clear the way, you’ll need to make it happy enough to become aHelper. This means making sure it’s fed every day and has a suitable pen.
You can speed up the process bypetting itand giving ittreatsevery day.
Once you’re told the Styracosaurus has become a Helper, you must use aSaddleon it to be able to ride it. Then, you may use it to break open rocks in the same way that Lucky can be used to clear away debris.
You may have tolevel your Styracosaurus up a bitto be able to break open the big rock blocking the way to the Dapplewood, as it takes multiple strikes. Once the boulder is broken, you’re able to enter the Dapplewood and continue on with your quests!
