One of the best parts about playingStarfieldis being able to find your own way to earn Credits. You can pick up various items to sell them, take over hostile ships, or look for Contraband items. All of these ways can get you a ton of Credits quickly, but some of them involve much more risk than others.

Contraband is one of the riskier parts of the game, but there’s a way to make the risk almost negligible. This comes in the form of Aurora farming. Aurora is a Contraband item found only in Neon, and you’ll have to go through quite a process to be able to make it yourself.
How To Get The Aurora Recipe
To be able to craft Aurora yourself,you’ll first have to start a quest chain called Loose Ends in Neon. This can be started simply by landing on Neon and going through the path to the elevator that leads you to the main city. Before you reach the elevator, you’ll see someone getting detained by security, which triggers the quest.
You’ll have to finish the following quests before you can start making Aurora yourself:
As soon as you finish the third quest, you’ll get a prompt saying that you may craft Aurora on any Pharmaceutical Lab now. You’llrequire one Benzene, two Hallucinogens, one Stimulant, and one Chasmbass Oilto create one Aurora.
How To Get Chasmbass Oil
You can get all the ingredients required to make Aurora from exploration or by simply buying them from certain Vendors,but Chasmbass Oil is the one item that you’ll need to farm yourself. Moreover, there’s only one place where you can find this item, and that’s right below the city of Neon.
You need to reach thewaters under Neon to find the Chasmbass fish, and these can be eliminated to get Chasmbass Oil. Here are a couple of ways to get to the waters quickly:
Neon can be found in theVolii Alpha planet of the Volii star system(bottom right side of Alpha Centauri).
Once you locate a Chasmbass in the waters using your scanner, you’ll either have toconstantly jump out of the water to be able to shoot it or find a platform to stand on nearby. If you defeat a Chasmbass when it’s deep underwater, it’ll slowly come to the surface automatically. However, it’s quite rare to farm the fish in Starfield.
This is not because they’re hard to find, but because their respawn timer is quite long. Chasmbasswon’t respawn even if you sit on a chair and wait for multiple days in-game. You’ll have to play the game for a few real-life hours for them to respawn.
How To Sell Aurora
The best part about making Aurora is that it’sone of the few ways to sell Contraband without any risksince you can create it and sell it in Neon itself. Once you make Aurora, head over to the main city area and look for a shining yellow banner that says Trade Authority.
You can sell all your Contraband items including Aurora to this vendor inside for quite a decent price. In case you run out of Vendor Credits during this process,simply wait on a nearby chair for 24 hours and it’ll refresh.
