Your first sets of wallpaper and flooring will likely come from completing the main questHouse, Sweet House, which rewards you with both Natural Wood Paneling and Apothecary Stone Flooring.

First, you’ll need them in youraction bar. From there, scroll onto them and use themlike you would if you were eating a food dish or placing an item.

You’ll enter into a menu similar to when placing and moving furniture, and from there you canindividually paste wallpaper onto each wallof your house, andflooring onto each room’s floor. Adding wood floors to bedrooms or living rooms and smooth stone flooring types to a kitchen area can really spice up your design. The same applies to wallpapers for different room types!

Where To Purchase Housing Additions

Initially, you have access to a 11x11 room with the Harvest House, but it can get cramped quickly, especially if you enjoycrafting and decorating with furniture. You canadd onto your housewith different sized rooms and sections that you’ll need toprovide the materials for.

Similar to Writs andCrafting Licenses, housing additions arepurchased from the Kilima City Hallfor Gold. All of them have a base cost, butrepeated purchases of the same additionwill have a slightly increased price.

How To Add Rooms And Additions To Your House

Once you’ve purchased any additions, the foundation of them will become available for placement in theAdvanced Housing Menu.

When it comes to room additions, such as the Small Room, Palia works on asystem similar to puzzle pieces.

Each room, other than the Harvest House, hasfour pointsof contact, with one on each side of the structure, and you canconnect rooms togetherby linking them point to point. Empty points of contact are signified by apale orange circle, and when two rooms can properly link together, the circle will thenchange to green.

Housing Additions like the Fireplace and Porch work in the same way: you candrag and connect them to a roomas long as there’s sufficient space. Once a room or addition’s construction is complete, any wall pieces will bereturned to your inventory or storageif they no longer fit on the wall.

For example, you may connect two Porches to two different Large Rooms, and havemultiple entrances to your home. This can give you a more direct access point to a storage room or kitchen.

You can also connectmultiple Hallway Sectionstogether to make a long hallway between rooms, but be careful of the building limit.

How To Modify A Room’s Window Or Doorway Style

As of Patch 0.168, you now have the ability tomodify the style of window or doorway styleof any given room.

From theAdvanced House Menu, you’re able to select the edit button – signified by thewhitesquare and pencil icon– above a room, and you’ll see a radial menu with the available options.

How To Obtain More Housing Plots

As you add more housing additions, crafters, and soil squares to your plot, you’ll find that you start to run low on space. When that happens, you’ll need toexpand your plot size with Writs.

Writs can bepurchased at Kilima City Hallfrom the cash register sitting on the front counter and each one costs asmall amount of Renown. Initially, Writs start off at 20 Renown, but theprice willgradually increase as you buy themand caps out at 100 Renown by the final purchase.

There are39 Writsavailable to purchase that correspond to the39 additional housing plots you can unlock. You’ll need a total of2,410 Renownfor all of them.

To use them, you’ll need to go to your housing plot and access theAdvanced Housing Menu. Select any locked plot, and you’ll get a prompt asking you if you want to unlock it for one Writ.
