Annihilus has a very unique ability that allows him to fit into avariety of deck archetypes, especially theJunkandLockdowndecks.

Annihilus is a five-cost, seven-Power card that has the effect: On reveal, all of yourcards with zero or less Power switch sides. Cards that can’t switch sides are insteaddestroyed.

annihilus and the hood cards

This means that your cards that have zero or negative Power, like the Hood, the Sentry’s the Void, or Rocks created from Debrii, will attempt tomove to the opponent’s side of the board. If there is no room for them, like if the location is already full, these cards willinstead be destroyed.

The staple cards of this deck areThe Hood, Sentry, Debrii, and of course,Annihilus.Aliothis a very strong turn six drop that works in almost any situation, whileCarnageandViperare used to remove Rocks orthe Voidfrom your side.

Due to the majority of the cards in this deck having On Reveal effects,Absorbing Mancan be used in a variety of different situations, making him an easy choice to include.

Substitutions

Luke CageandHazmatare two cards that perform very well together, especially aftersending low-Power cards to the enemy’s side. Hazmat will reduce the power of every card on the board by one, while Luke Cage will protect your own cards from having their Power lowered.

Man-Thingcan be a good addition, especially against decks with lots oflow-Cost cardslike theBounce archetype.

Armorcan protect your Sentry from being destroyed by Shang-Chi, or you can use her offensively toprevent the opponent from destroying the junk cardsyou send to their side.

Playing The Deck

The general idea of this deck is tofill up the locations with rocks from Debrii, stopping your opponent from playing their cards. Then, you cansend your rocks to their side, clearing your side and further filling theirs.

Sentryhas thebiggest swing potentialin this deck. Ideally, you would playSentryon turn four,Annihiluson turn five to send the Void to the enemy’s side, thenAliothon turn six to secure the final location. This three-card combo alone can win a lot of games, especially if you cancorrectly predict where they will play with Alioth.

DaredevilandProfessor Xare a tried-and-true combination that canlock down a lane on their own. Playing Professor X at theright locationcan thenprevent the Void from being summonedthere if you don’t draw Viper or Annihilus to send it over.

Deathis used as a surprise turn six drop, especially against decks that are destroying cards of their own. With Death, you’re able to secure one location with Sentry for at least22 Power, then use Alioth or Professor X to take care of the second location. There are tons of different ways to succeed with this deck; you are limited only by our own ingenuity!
