Being able to hang out with villagers inDisney Dreamlight Valleyis fun, but it’s even more exciting to collect cute animal companions to follow you on your adventures. There are a wide variety of critters in the valley, from squirrels to crocodiles, and all of them can join you as you rebuild the valley. However, you can only have one equipped at a time.

Thankfully, with a few new items, you can play with up to four animal companions in the valley at a time. This lets you collect as many pets as you want and let them roam in the village for you and your neighbors to enjoy.
What Are Companions?
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, animal companions are critters that can be found in each biome. Each area has a different critter to befriend, and there are different ways tounlock them as companions.
While some are harder to unlock than others, it’s well worth the effort to enjoy their company andcute little facesas you go about your adventures.
Overall, you need to approach them and offer them their favorite foods. You can also purchase them from the store withMoonstones or event tokensfor exclusive companions.
Once they’re unlocked, you may either equip them to follow you or you canplace them in the Cozy Companion Homein your village.
How To Get Companion Items
With update 1.4, you cancraft five new itemsto interact with your companions. They can be crafted after collecting the necessary materials.
These are furniture items you can place in the valley, and they include:
Pixar Companion Ball
These materials are not too difficult to find, so you can likely do a quick run around the valley to gather most of them. Once the materials are in your inventory or stored in chests,head to the nearest Crafting Stationto get started.
How To Interact With Companions
After crafting the companion items, you can place them anywhere in your valley. Setting down the Cozy Companion Home allows you to selectup to four companionsto display.
They willroam the immediate areaand play with any other toys that are out. This is a fantastic way for youto see your favorite crittersout and about every time you play.
you’re able to also interact with your animal companions when equipped, andif your animal companion is nearby, you can pet them. You can also use settings in photo mode topose with your furry friends.
Critters are more than just pets in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they’re just as interactive as the other villagers you see.
