There are dozens of companions to find throughout yourStarfieldplaythrough. While Constellation members have the most fleshed out personalities and personal quests, there are multiple lesser companions you can recruit to better round out your crew. Most of these companions are found in major hub towns, but there are a few quests that unlock new companions.

One such companion is Amelia Earhart. It might seem strange to have a rather famous aviator in the far future, but there is an explanation for her appearance in Starfield. This guide will explain where you can find Amalia Earhart, how to recruit her, and briefly showcase her unique skillset.
Where To Find Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart can be found in theCharybdis system on Charybdis III.This system is found on the eastern edge of the galaxy, located east of Kryx.You’ll need to upgrade your gravity drive or rank up the Astrodynamics skill to reach this star system,as its over 23 light years from the next closest system.
When you first arrive at Charybdis, you’ll receive an incoming message about a project gone awry on a nearby planet.Make your way to Charybdis III to start the “Operation Starseed” quest.This planet has a facility that’s been creating clones of notable historical figures like Franklin Roosevelt, Genghis Khan, and Amelia Earhart.
The end of this quest will require you to pick a side and decide how to handle the cloning facility.The side you choose doesn’t matter; so long as you don’t destroy the facility, Amelia will survive. Once “Operation Starseed” is complete, you should now be able to recruit Amelia Earhart as a crew member.
Recruiting Amelia Earhart
You’ll find Amelia Earhartoutside of Franklin Roosevelt’s homeon Charybdis III. It’s located at the center of Crucible, directly across from the landing site. Amelia Earhart will offer to join your crew once you finish “Operation Starseed,” provided you didn’t choose to end the project by killing everyone. Recruiting her is completely free and doesn’t cost any resources.
Amelia Earhart Skills
Amelia Earhart has two ranks in thePilotingandRifle Certificationskills. It’s important to note thatcrew skills are notthe same as player skills.For example, Amelia’s two ranks in Piloting do not give you two free ranks in the skill. Instead, she will increase your ship’s top speed by roughly 20%. Crew members with a higher Piloting skill (notably Sam Coe) will override Amelia’s speed bonus. From limited testing, Rifle Certification doesnotincrease your rifle damage but rather your companion’s rifle damage.
As with all companions in Starfield, you may hire Amelia as a crew member or an outpost member. Placing her in charge of an outpost will prevent you from benefiting from her Piloting bonus, but she will defend the assigned outpost from hostile aliens and other attackers. For most players,we recommend assigning Amelia to your shipto benefit from her Piloting skill.
