Minthara is a Loth-Sword Drow that you may meet at the Goblin Camp inBaldur’s Gate 3. She’s a great fighter and an even better healer. However, many players miss recruiting her because doing so requires you to do some atrocious acts.

When you meet her, she tells you she’s planning on raiding the Emerald Grove with an army of Goblins. If you agree to help her wipe everyone out, you’ll have the option to invite her to join your party during Act 2 of the story. If you’re doing an evil playthrough, or you just need a Paladin, continue reading to learn how to start her quest.

How To Enter The Goblin Camp

Before leaving the Emerald Grove in Act 1, you’ll receive a quest tokill the leaders at the goblin camp. To start the Minthara recruitment process,you’ll need to enter the camp without starting a fight.The easiest way to do this is by using your illithid mind powers or saving Sazza in the Emerald Grove.

Where To Find Minthara?

Minthara is located in theShattered Sanctum, X: 334, Y: 43. When you approach her, she’ll tell you about her plan to lead an attack on the Emerald Grove. If you tell her you know where the Grove is, she’ll pry your mind with her illithid powers to get the location.

Once you let her into your mind, she’ll leave to gather her army of goblins.After you long rest and go back to the Druid’s Grove, the attack will begin, so you’ll need to wrap up anyGrove-related quests you have, or you’ll lose the chance to do so.

Open The Way To The Emerald Grove

After a short cutscene, you’ll be let into the Emerald Grove. Climb the ladder to the top of the wall and inform the Tielfing leader, Zevlor, that you’re betraying everyone. From here, the fight will begin.

Attacking the Druid’s Grove will allow you to recruit Minthara, butyou’ll lose Wyll and Karlach.

Out of the Tieflings on top of the wall,Zevlor is the biggest problem. He has a hefty defense stat, so you’ll need to widdle him down before taking out the others. From there, you’ll raid the area with the shops.

Minthara will run into Zevlor’s office. If you follow her, you’ll enter a battle with the civilians. After clearing out the room,Minthara will tell you to kill the Druids.

The two biggest Druid threats areNettie and Rath.Concentrate on defeating them while the goblin forces keep everyone else occupied.

Talk To Minthara At Camp

After killing everyone in the Grove, you’ll celebrate with the goblins at your camp.Talk to Minthara to get an illithid tadpoleand agree to share the night with her if you plan on romancing her later.

Accepting her advances will put you into a dialogue with her once you click on yourBedroll.You’ll need to pass a DC 2 Persuasion or Deception check to end the night peacefully.Failing the roll will provoke her and start a fight.

If you don’t go to bed with her, she’ll confront you the next morning. You’ll have to passa DC 12 Persuasion check or DC 15 Intimidation checkto end the dialogue without violence andbegin the Moonrise Towers quest.

Save Minthara At The Moonrise Towers

When you meet Minthara again, she’sat the Moonrise Towers being persecuted on the main floor X: 153, Y: -190. It doesn’t matter if you stand in silence or choose one of the other dialogue options; Minthara will be sent off to prison.

To save her, head to the prison at X: 636, Y: -669. you may kill the two questioners or try to get them to leave witha DC 12 Persuasion check. When you go to leave the Moonrise Towers, you’ll be stopped by the sentinel.Passing a DC 12 Persuasion checkwill allow you to exit with Minthara without any trouble.

If you choose not to stop the questioners, Minthara will have her mind wiped.At that point, you’ll no longer be able to recruit her.

Once you get outside,tell Minthara where your camp is.The next time you’re there, you’ll be able to invite her to your party.
