Paladins inBaldur’s Gate 3swear to uphold an oath when they first create their character. From defending the innocent to claiming vengeance, each Paladin subclass guides the player character’s morals and how they should interact with other NPCs.

But should that Paladin act against this, their oath will be broken on the spot with seemingly no way to fix it. The good news is that Paladins that broke their oath, either accidentily or intentionally, can get their oath back if they have enough coin. We’ll explain how any Paldin that’s broken their oath can restore their original subclass with a short conversation.
How To Redeem An Oathbreaker Paladin
Once a Paladin has broken their oath, they will be visited by an Oathbreaker Paladin in a short cutscene. This Oathbreaker will migrate to your camp and stay there for the rest of your playthrough.Speaking to the Oathbreaker Paladin will allow you to become an Oathbreaker while your oath is broken, or you can restore your oath for a moderate sum of Gold.
The redemption option is only available after you’ve talked to the Oathbreaker at least once. Speak to them and decide if you want to become an Oathbreaker; accepting or declining has no impact on redeeming your oath. Speaking to the Paladin a second time will unlock the ability to restore your oath.Choose the following dialogue options:

Restoring your Paladin subclass will require 1,000 gold.This is currently the only way to restore your oath in Baldur’s Gate 3, regardless of any choices made during your playthrough. If you do not have enough gold, you cannot restore your oath.
Respeccing As An Oathbreaker
So long as your oath is broken, Withers will be unable to respec your character. This is also true if you decide to become an Oathbreaker. You must pay 1,000 Gold to the Oathbreaker Paladin before you may respec your character. If you wish to play as an Oathbreaker, you’ll need to repeat this process every time you wish to respec.
Acquiring Enough Gold To Restore Your Oath
Amassing 1,000 gold can be a difficult task, especially if you broke your oath during the first Act. Here are a few tips to getting a lump sum of Gold if you find yourself stuck:
