There are many interesting characters inBaldur’s Gate 3. Some of these characters' lives depend on your actions and choices within the game. Volo is a light-hearted Bard you may find near the beginning of the game.

Meeting Volo In Druid Grove
Youfirst meet Volo in Sacred Pool of the Druid Grove.Before speaking to Kagha, you can talk to Volo. He will behaving a unique conversation with a bear. You can use thespell or a scroll of Animal Speaking to talk to the bearto reveal Volo is definitely getting his facts wrong.
Volo will tell you he wants to go to the Goblin Campto further document these historic events.After speaking to him or agreeing to help the Tieflings with the Goblins, the moment you leave the grove for a while is the momentVolo sets off.

How To Rescue Volo From The Goblins
When youfirst enter the Goblin Camp on friendly terms, you will find Voloperforming a songfor them in the courtyard. If youtalk to Volo normally,the Goblins will besuspicious.
TheGoblins will harm Volo if it seems like he knows you.They will think he is trying to find a way to get saved.

After speaking to him in the courtyard,Gribbo will take him away to his jail cellin the Shattered Sanctum. You canfind Volo’s cell by heading up the right side staircasenext to the thronePriestess Gut would be on.
Gribbo will be guarding Volo at all times.By speaking to Gribbo, you can successfullyroll for Ilithid Wisdom, Deception, or Intimidationin order to get her tofree Volo.

Alternatively, you can justshut the door behind you and kill Gribbo. If you attack Gribbo, you will have the option tobribe your way out of the confrontation, accept jail time, or continue attacking.There is a Goblin that makes his rounds into the room that may walk in on the fight.
If all plays out right, you should be able tosilently and quickly take down Gribboin this room without alerting anyone else. It is best tosave before attempting this,in case you aggro the rest of the Goblin Camp.
