InStarfield, delving deep into the myriad of skills spread across its extensive skill trees is a fundamental aspect of the gameplay. If you’re new, it can be easy toallocate points in a way you later regret. Surprisingly, and unfortunately, the game doesn’t offer a direct respec button to help you reassign your hard-earned skill points.

While this isn’t a huge problem since you can technically gain infinite levels, it can become a long wait to correct any missteps in the late game. If you’re impatient and keen on rearranging those skills sooner, there is an unconventional way to achieve just that, and this guide will show you exactly how.
Can You Respec In Starfield?
Youcannot respec in Starfieldthroughin-game means. This means that you technicallyaren’t able to take skill points out of skillsthat you’ve already allocated them to, and assign them to another skill.
Though unfortunate, that being said, this isn’t nearly as bad as it sounds, because there isno level cap in Starfield, allowing you toprogress infinitelyand thuseventually get all the skillsthat you want.

On the other hand, however, as you progress further into the game and the experience requirements get higher, new skill points can become fewer and too far between. If you’re looking to redo your build alittle more quicklythan through leveling up, you’re able to —through console commands.
How To Respec In Starfield
In order to “respec” in Starfield, you’ll need touse console commands. This isn’t truly “respec-ing” in the traditional sense, as you’ll need touse commands to add a point to your desired skill, thenanother command to remove itfrom an existing skill. It’s a little roundabout, but it’ll get the job done!
To start, open the Console. By default, you can do this by pressing thegrave key (`).

Unfortunately, console commands areonly available to PC players. That being said, yoursave files can transfer over across platforms.
After this, use the following console commands toadd and remove points in your skills, respectively.
For example, to add theMedicine perkto yourself, you wouldopen the consoleand enter the"player.addperk 002CE2DF" command — whereas to remove it, you’d run the “player.removeperk 002CE2DF” command.
Do note that using console commands willautomatically disable your achievements. you’re able to circumvent this withcertain third-party mods.
