Whether you’re new to the series or a seasoned veteran, you won’t need Esports-level skills to master the subtle art of the Trivela. While it can be difficult to execute a Trivela at first, once you understand the subtlety of positioning your player and the ball, everything will fall into place.
What Is A Trivela?
A Trivela isa shot (or cross) taken with the outside of your player’s boot– this connection adds a swerve to the ball’s flight through the air.
Essentially, the shot is meant to confuse the goalkeeper, causing them to misjudge the shot and ultimately give up a goal.
To execute the Trivela, you will need to carefully pick your spot and seize the opportunity to shoot once the ball is in the right area.
How To Perform A Trivela
In order to do a Trivela, you’ll first need the right button combination:
PC
HOLD W + Left Click
However, a Trivela won’t automatically happen once you press this button combination, because the position of the ball determines if the shot is a Trivela.
Now that you have the right tools to get to work, you’ll have to practice the details.
The most important part of executing a Trivelais to keep the ball to the outside of the player’s strong foot.
A Five-star weak foot is irrelevant; keep track of the player’s strong foot in their details screen.
Ultimately, you want to position yourself so that your shot will curl the ball away from you in an outward arc.
Right-Footed Players
For right-footed players, you’ll want to position yourself so thatthe ball is slightly to your right.
You shouldapproach the ball either from a head-on run or from the right side, as this allows your player to wrap the outside of their boot around the ball.
Left-Footed Players
For left-footed players, you’ll want to position yourself so thatthe ball is slightly to your left.

When To Use A Trivela
Knowing how to take a Trivela is only half the battle, as finding yourself in the right positions to use it is not as simple.
Do not force a Trivelaas the method to get into position is more beneficial as a reaction to opposing defense.
Your movement needs to be perfect to perform the shot reliably, souse it as a surprise tactic when you are cutting in on a winger’s strong side(LW for left-footed, RW for right-footed).
The best place to attempt a Trivelais from outside the box using a player with 80-89 shot power.
A shot power rating of 80-89is strong enough to generate power while still causing the ball to loop slightly in the air, eluding the goalkeeper.
Keep toward the central area of the field, so your shot has some room to curl in and doesn’t miss the net.
Once you score a few, you’ll be able to find your favorite spot to shoot from and start building the muscle memory to make Trivelas second nature.
