As you progress throughLies Of P, you’ll come across mysterious items known as Cryptic Vessels, and you won’t know what to do with them. If you want to uncover their secrets, you must take them to Venigni in Hotel Krat, because he’s the only one skilled in handling them. While you may find these items as you explore the world, there is one exception.

The Rusty Cryptic Vessel isn’t something you stumble upon; instead, you can purchase it at Hotel Krat. However, before this item becomes available, you need to find a specific Supply Box for Polendina.
We’re not entirely sure if the Rusty Cryptic Vessel becomes accessible only after providing Polendina with the third expansion, Special Krat Supply Box, or if it requires all three, including the Krat Supply Box and the Sturdy Krat Supply Box. We believe the first option is more logical since each expansion increases the inventory. However, we haven’t been able to confirm the second theory at this time.
How To Get The Rusty Cryptic Vessel
to obtain theRusty Cryptic Vessel, you need to progress through the gameuntil you reach the Krat Central Station area(the second time, not the place where you started). Once you’re there, continue your journey normally until you arrive theCollapsed Street.
From the Stargazer there,enter the house in front of you.Use the stairs to reach the second floorwhile dealing with enemies or avoiding them as needed.
On the second floor,you’ll find a hole in the wall.
Exit through it andcarefully follow the round path to the left. At its end,you’ll see a lower level where you can drop down.
After dropping down,move forward to the right, andyou’ll spot a chest not far away. Make your way to the chest to obtain theSpecial Krat Supply Box.
Once you have this item,return it to Hotel Krat and give the Supply Box to Polendina.
This action will add new items to his shop,including the Rusty Cryptic Vessel, available for 1,000 Ergo.
The next step is totake this item to Venigni for decryption.
In return, you’ll receive theRusty Cryptic Vessel Decryption.
How To Solve The Rusty Cryptic Vessel
Upon opening the Rusty Cryptic Vessel Decryption, you’ll encounter a familiar locked gate picture that you came across while traveling in the Barren Swamp, accompanied by the following message: “Orders: Find the cave blocked off by metal bars in the Barren Swamp. There is a reward at the end of the new road.”
This locked gate is the same location where you met Hugo and obtainedthe Old Cryptic Vessel.
To reach this spot,travel to Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazerand make your way to the locked gate.
Nowyou’ll find this gate unlockedand this will open upa whole new area. You can even interact with Hugo for some insight.
Your goal is tomake it to the end of this new path known as Hermit’s Cave.
Upon entering,be cautious of a trap near a blue item; you’ll noticea wire trap on the floor, sowalk more to the left side to avoid it.
Afterward, you’ll come across two pathways, both are correct, but it’squicker and easier to take the left one.
Continue to the left while dropping down platformsuntil you reach therooftop of a wooden house. Here, drop down andkeep following the road to the left.
Inside this wooden house, you’ll find a chest containingthe Black Steel Cutter weaponif you’d like to acquire it.
Be mindful of another wire trap along the way.
Shortly after the wire trap,take the bridge to the right, thendrop down to the left.
Climb up the ladder in front of you, and you’ll encounter a Stargazer.Be sure to repair it before proceeding.
To the left of the Stargazer, you can drop down to a lower level.
Here, you need toquickly make your way forward, as there’s a nearbycrystal rock that inflicts Disruption. You’ll come acrossa bridge leading to the right shortly after.
After crossing the bridge, and to shorten your journey,you’ll spot another drop down to the bridge below which will take up a little from your HP.
Take advantage of this, andyou’ll find a set of stairs to your right.
Continue along this pathuntil you come across a strong enemy. You have the option to either defeat this enemy or bypass it.
However,if you choose to defeat the enemy, you’ll get theMisty E’ra Record, which is important for your records collection to earn theGolden Melody trophy.
If you possessany fire-based weapons or Thermite, use themto inflict Overheat, as it will help defeat the enemy more quickly.
Finally, use the stairs ahead to reach the final room in this cave, where you’ll finda locked chest containing the Black Cat’s Hunting Apparel costume and one Quartz.
