Find Mission Terminals

If you want to go on bounty hunts, you need to findMission Terminals. Perhaps the biggest surprise here is thatyoudon’tneed to interact with Trackers Alliance Terminals, despite the fact that you’re essentially joining up with the Trackers Alliance (as much as one joins up in bounty-hunting, anyway).

There’s a Mission Board to your left on your way past the security checkpoint in New Atlantis, but we recommend youwait until you reach Cydonia early in the main questbefore checking into all this. Starfield drops a ton of gameplay mechanics in your direction early on, and Cydonia even hasa woman with the Trackers Allianceto your left on your way in. She’ll not only tell you all about bounty hunts, but evenoffers a questthat’ll be missed if you don’t engage with her.

She’ll also point you to the nearest Mission Board, which isjust outside the Broken Spear bar.Look for the twin kiosks near the entrance, interact with the Mission Board, and you’re ready to begin.

What To Expect From Bounty Hunting

If you may see the screenshot above, you’ll know what the Mission Board interaction UI is like. If you can’t, here’s the gist - you’ll see Mission Names and Rewards. When you hover over one, you’ll get details on what exactly the mission entails.Note thatbounty hunts are merely one of several different mission types, includingcargo and surveyopportunities.

Our personal favorites are the bounties involving destroying ships, rather than killing individuals down on planetary surfaces.Ship bounties are generally faster, since you simply fly into orbit at the appropriate spot, target the craft, and blow it to smithereens. Just be sure you don’t get blown up in the process -ship combat can be difficult in the Frontier, and without skill ranks and good crew. Once you’ve got a good ship, as well as the skills to back it up? Easy stuff.

If you’re aiming for someone on a world, you may need to do some considerable legwork to reach your destination, though it’s not unlike typical planetary exploration. On the plus side, you’ll probablyget plenty additional creditswhile you’re out putting down your foes.

As an aside, if you have the ‘Wanted’ trait, and you want to get rid of it, speak with the Trackers Alliance representive we mentioned at Cydonia - or find another rep someplace else - and agree to pay a 3,000-credit fine!
