The Toll House is a location within The Risen Roads inBaldur’s Gate 3. The Risen Roads is North of the Blighted Village andcontains a key companion, Karlach. You may have noticed an Ornate Hatch inside the Toll House that leads to a weird cellar.
There are quite a few secret vaults and secret entrance locations in Baldur’s Gate 3. All you have to do is explore and have good investigation skills, and you’ll be able to spot them. The locked door at the bottom of the Toll House leads to a vault and plenty of rewards.

Where Is The Toll House Key?
The key for the locked door is actually not far at all. You canuse Speak With The Deadto talk to dead Toll Collectorsaround the Toll House for information. One of the toll collectors will tell you the location of the key.
Whether you want to indulge in speaking to the dead or not, the location of theToll Collector Key is on the path toward Karlach, justSouth of the Toll House.
To get to the Toll House Key Location, headtowards Karlachand, before turning right onto the bridge to her,turn leftand head to thebase of the wooden ladder. You will find the key on thecorpse of the Toll Collectorat the base of this ladder.
The Paladins within the Toll House have no business with the cellar, so they won’t know much, and theywon’t mind you exploring.
How To Get Through The Toll House Cellar
Once you get through the locked door, there will bethree traps on the groundin the next room. Successful Perception checks will reveal them for you to Disarm.
They are circular in the center of the room, so just avoid stepping on them if you can’t pass the Perception check.
There is nothing in the initial room.The cell door can be lockpickedto continue through. As you continue through the cellar, there is ultimately nothing interesting other than traps and storage bins.
In the last room, there will be two thrones on the left wall.Separate party members and have two people sit on the chairs.
Alternatively, you may placeheavy itemson each chair.
Doing thisactivates the secret vault. The wall between the thrones will lower.
There is a poison trapin the vault room that will spew poison all over your party members in both rooms.Disarmthe vent traps inboth roomsor place something above the vents to cover them.
Additional Ways Into The Vault
If you don’t feel like entering the vault the hard way, are unable to pick the lock successfully, or cannot find the Toll House key, there is asecret back passageinto the vault. Getting through will require some careful planning andspecial abilities.
To find the secret entrance, head around to theback of the Toll House.The easiest path isaround the left side of the building.
Before entering the area immediately behind the building,save your game. To find the secret passage, you mustsuccessfully pass a passive Perception Check.
Once you have successfully passed the Perception Check, which is triggered uponwalking to the far end of the building’s backyard, you will see a newly revealedburrow hole.
To enter the Vault, you mustfind a way into the burrow hole. There are a few ways you may enter this small hole.
Become A Gas
The first method is to cast the spellGaseous Form.You can do this with any character who haslearned the spellor by using aspell scroll.Once you areinGaseous form, you canenter the burrow hole.
You will not be able to exitthe burrow hole againunless you are inGaseous form.You will need to eitherrest, replenish your spell slot, and returnto cast the spell again and exit, or you will need toleave the Vault manually.
Become Smaller
A second method for entering the burrow hole is to use the spell Reduceon a halfling or gnomecharacter. Unfortunately, no matter how many times you reduce amedium-sized character, they areunable to enter the hole.Youmustbe either a gnome or a halfling.
Become A Small Animal
The third and final way to enter the burrow hole is touse Wild Shapeto transform yourself into a spider or an animalsmall enough to fit through the crack.
Once you are in the burrow hole, you can continue to explore the cellar and break into the vault following the options outlined above.
