A lot ofStarfieldplayers have run into the same problem - hoarding. You’ve probably found thatthe base ‘mass’ isn’t nearly enough to carry your gear, resources, and consumable items. You’ll likely fill your ship’s cargo hold and turn your companions into glorified pack mules, but still become encumbered as yougather the materialsfor your outposts.

There are ways to increase your inventory weight and even reduce the mass of resources, thanks to perks and suit bonuses. This isn’t an iron-tight solution, however, as limit increases are gradual and not nearly enough to offset the amount of things there are to pick up. There is a solution, however, if you don’t mind cheating a little.

How To Use The Console To Increase Carry Weight

If you want to increase your carry weight, simply typeplayer.setav carryweight [X],with the [X] being your desired maximum carry weight. For example, typing in player.setav carryweight 500 will set your carry weight to 500.

To open the console, press the ` or ' key.

You can make this a stupidly high number, such as ‘999999999’, or you can enter something lower that can still be filled if you don’t want to practically remove the limit altogether.

How To Get Achievements After Using The Console

The downside is thatusing the console to increase your carry weight will disable achievementsby flagging your save file as ‘modded’.

Even going back to old save files prior to using the console command will disable achievements. In that case, you have toopen the Starfield folderunder ‘My Games’ in Documents anddelete the ‘StarfieldConsoleHistory’ file.

If you wantto keep your inventory weight and use achievements, you will have to download a third-party mod. The easiest one to use right now isBaka Achievement Enabler, which requires theStarfield Script Extender.

Add the contents of the SFE and BAE folders to your Starfield directory (containing Starfield.exe), thenlaunch the game via the sfe_loader.exe.Now, console commands will not disable your ability to acquire achievements.

How To Get Infinite Carry Weight On Xbox

Xbox does not have a console, so you can’t enter cheats. It also hasno native mod supportlikeSkyrimandFallout 4, so there are no ways to increase your inventory weight via the Xbox itself.

If you want to increase your mass limit, you need a PC that can run Starfield even briefly. Simplyrepeat the steps above, close the game, and thenre-open it on Xbox. Your save file will transfer over.

you’re able to also use this method to cheat in digipicks, money, and other items to your Xbox save file.

However,Xbox will cap your inventory weight at 1,000. While not the infinite 9,999,999 of PC, it’s a much higher number that will make things easier.

The downside is that there are no ways to avoid your save file being flagged as ‘modded’, even if you entered the console command on PC while using the achievements enabler mod.Xbox will detect cheatswhen you autosave, quicksave, or manually save.
