Bandai Namcoappears to have accidentally confirmed the next two characters coming toTekken 8’s roster, which also might have added evidence for a leak from earlier in the week.
Although it might not have its own tournament yet thanks to it not actually being out, Tekken 8 is still one of the biggest games at EVO this year, and one that Bandai Namco seems to have some special plans for. You wouldn’t know that just yet, though,as its first panel was mostly focused on data learned from the Closed Network Tests, with a reveal instead seemingly planned for Sunday.

In typical Tekken 8 fashion, it appears that the reveals have already been accidentally shared by Bandai Namco. As pointed out by Redditor Trem45 on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, Bandai Namco Europe accidentally uploaded news about the character reveals to its website, albeit without the actual trailers.
Still, even without the trailers attached, the accidental upload tells us that one of the next characters to be revealed is Tekken 5’s Raven, who isn’t surprising to see considering how many games he’s appeared in since he was first introduced. The more interesting reveal, however, is of a brand-new character called Azucena, who appears to be named after a flower.
Considering how few newcomers there currently are on Tekken 8’s roster, it should be interesting enough to even just learn about another one, but Azucena’s accidental reveal might actually have wider implications for Tekken 8 as a whole. Earlier this week, images started being spread around social media that claimed to show Tekken 8’s final rosterand one of the characters featured within was someone with a large flower on their head.
Considering Azucena is clearly based on the flower of the same name and one of the unrecognisable characters pictured in the leak has a flower on their head, this new official leak from Bandai Namco itself seems to have given more evidence towards the roster leak being true, as it’d be incredibly lucky to get such similar details right across two leaks.
This is noteworthy because the Tekken 8 roster leak is one that’s split fans down the middle in regards to whether it’s real or not, mostly due to the grainy photo taken of it and the small number of newcomers. If it does turn out to be true, as the Azucena leak suggests, then some of the other characters that are going to be joining the roster include Kuma (of course), Alisa, and someone who looks suspiciously like Cody Rhodes of WWE fame.
