LegoandSuper Mario’s collaboration has been a fruitful one so far, starting with an interactive Mario set and spinning into a collection that now includesa massive Bowseranda Question Block filled with miniature recreations of levels from Super Mario 64. Mario’s Lego world will grow a little bigger before the end of 2023 as the next set coming our way has been revealed. A Piranha Plant set geared towards grown-up Lego fans.
Lego shareda first look at the Piranha Plant seton Twitter, making sure to use the LegoSetsForAdults hashtag. Although it has only just been revealed, the set’s listing is already live. The listing confirms the finer details about the new set, including how much it costs, how tall it will be when built, and when you’re able to expect it to arrive. It also reveals how many pieces the set will be made up of. An impressive, and challenging, 540.

Although the Lego Piranha Plant won’t have any interactive elements, which presumably means your Lego Mario won’t do anything when near it, it is fully posable. That means you can bend it to your will - to an extent, don’t go too far or you might break it and need to start again - and effectively have it as a centerpiece in your office, on the windowsill, or right in the middle of the dining room table. Hey, you’re going to spend a lot of time building it, why shouldn’t it be somewhere everyone is going to see it all of the time?
Super Mario Lego Piranha Plant
Piranha Plant has been added to the Lego Super Mario collection via its very own set. Geared more toward adult Lego fans, the Piranha Plant set is fully posable and made up of 540 pieces.
At $59.99, it’s not the most overpriced Lego set to date considering the number of pieces included and how much time it’ll take the average Lego fan to build. Although pretty much everything you could want to know about the set is already listed, it won’t be released until July 04, 2025. No word yet on whether you will be able to pre-order the set ahead of time or if you’ll simply have to wait until it goes on sale and hope you’re lucky enough to get one before they sell out.
If you don’t fancy waiting until November 6 to go on your next Lego Mario adventure, the Question Block set mentioned above has been on sale at Amazon and Target. One of the more expensive Lego Mario sets on the market due to the intricacy of its design and attention to detail, the set was available for $160 rather than the usual $200. It may well have gone back up to full price by the time you read this, though.
